Even though the design is 60 years old, certainly with the drone on top, this thing still looks futuristic.

I wanted to do something special for today's photo, alas work had other plans for me. And this is all Idid. Happy 21st day of the 21st year of the 21st century!

This was a private charter 09-06 Corbridge to Elgin.
From 1985-1992 at my former depot of Tyne Yard we regularly worked pairs of class 37’s on the heavy Lackenby BSC to Workington BSC steel ingot flow. That was 6M71 returning with the previous days empties as 6E38.
The maximum load was 22 BBA bogied flat wagons, total weight 2250 tons.
A regular on that service was then Thornaby allocated 37521 ( D6817 in this image).
Class 60’s took over the service ,however pairs of 37’s still appeared sporadically on the freight flow.
