"Carrasecare o Carre 'e segare, con questa parola viene identificato il carnevale nelle zone centrali della Sardegna. Etimologicamente significa “carne viva da lacerare”, così come si consumava nelle feste dionisiache per ricordare la morte del dio sbranato dai titani.

"Carrasecare or Carre 'e segare, this word identifies the carnival in the central areas of Sardinia. Etymologically it means "living flesh to be torn apart", as it was consumed in the Dionysian festivals to commemorate the death of the god torn to pieces by the titans."
