My old, lightweight Manfrotto tripod is over 30 years old and has always served me well. It was there in Africa, accompanied me to Scandinavia and the south of Europe. It was almost like a good buddy. But for the new cameras it is simply too small and not stable enough. So a new one was needed. 😀 - The first photos with it turned out only little different than with the old one 😆. But handling it is more fun!

First try with my new Shen Hao filmback. The filmback works on my "Graflex Speed Graphic" and allows recordings in the format 6cm x 17cm. I'm quite happy with the recording. However, you can see that the lens from the 1960s has trouble with edge sharpness. The circle of light is large enough, but the focus is only up to 12cm. Well, I guess I'll have to look for another lens!

First attempt at color with the Shen Hao filmback.
I reached Lake Lungern on its north side after an hour's drive. I looked for a nice place for the first shot. The lake lay dark before me. I was hoping for a sunrise with colored lights on the mountains. A thin band of fog was forming on the southern mountain walls. Now the tension increased. Would the fog still be there when the sun reached it?... I waited and waited and cursed myself for forgetting my gloves again... Then the sun came. The fog grew bigger and bigger and began to glow beautifully.

Die Rißfälle bei Hammerbrücke sind die größten Wasserfälle im Vogtland. Die Rißfälle waren für die damalige Flößerei sehr wichtig und sind als solche künstlich angelegt worden.
The crack falls near Hammerbrücke are the largest waterfalls in the Vogtland. The crack falls were very important for the rafting at that time and as such were artificially created.
