DR Class 18.2 4-6-2 No.18 201, the magnificent mongrel. DR rebuilt it in 1961 using the 7' 6.5" driving wheels, most of the frames and bogie from the experimental DRG Class 61 streamlined 4-6-6T, the outside cylinders, trailing truck and rear frames of the even more experimental H45 2-10-2 turbine loco (the inside cylinder was new), the all welded boiler from a withdrawn DR rebuilt Class 22 (ex-Prussian P10) 2-8-2 (but fitted with a giesl oblong ejector) and a 2'2'T34 tender from a DRG Class 44 2-10-0, the entire ensemble being semi-streamlined. Oil burning. It was designed for 110 mph running and reached 113 mph in 1972. In 2011 it reached 100 mph! In preservation it has been fitted with a second tender. Shown arriving at Darmstadt Kranichstein with a special from Leipzig for a steam fest, 06/11. In preservation 18.201, it is fitted with with two tenders to increase it's range.

This Leyland Lynx was new to Keighley & District as 201 in 1989 and was the first of 8 new buses for newly privatised AJS holdings that latterly became Blazefield Holdings. This vehicle found its way to Sovereign in Stevenage before being sold to Stotts of Minsbridge - that used it with 3 other Lynxes on school contracts until they were replaced with Darts in 2008. Due to the historical significance of this vehicle it was purchased by some of the founders of AJS holdings and is currently back at Keighley where it is seen getting restored.

Who could resist the woman with the bright red hair?
Meet Julie, who was enjoying a quick smoke break when I approached her. She readily agreed to be a part of my project and was an absolute natural in front of the camera.
Julie has her own hairdressing business in Gatineau. Quebec, which has given her the opportunity to work full time and still have time with her children.
Thank you Julie for taking the time to pose for some photographs, I trust you like the photo's I emailed to you.
This is picture #201 in my third strangers series.
