Lake stage for West Side Story (2003)
Founded in 1946, the festival presents a wide variety of musical and theatrical events in several venues:
Seebühne (or floating stage), with its 7,000 seat open-air amphitheatre , is the location for large-scale opera or musical performances on a stage over water on the shores of Lake Constance.
Opera or musical productions on the floating stage generally tend to come from the popular operatic repertoire, but often are extravagantly original and innovative productions/ stagings, frequently using the waters of the lake as an extension of the stage. Recent productions have included Aida by Giuseppe Verdi in 2009 & 2010; Tosca by Giacomo Puccini in 2007–2008; Il trovatore by Giuseppe Verdi in 2005–2006; West Side Story by Leonard Bernstein in 2003-2004; La bohème by Giacomo Puccini in 2001–2002, and Ein Maskenball (Un ballo in maschera) by Giuseppe Verdi in 1999–2000.

Stunning sunset that is. Hope there will be many more. About 3:30 today while watching the first playoff football game I noticed that there was some breaks in the sky as the rain stopped, with some brightness at the horizon. It had been raining for the past two days here in Maryland. I thought there might be the chance of a colorful sunset between the rounds of rain.
Taking the chance I stopped watching and headed down to Middle River to visit with my dad for a little before the sunset would start ... and see what happened.
The potential energy was there for some light and color display. Mother nature did not disappoint this evening around Baltimore. Here is one of the BULB captures I took during the 30 minute display of color. This capture was for 400 seconds taken with the 9 Stop ND filter.
As I post this it once again raining heavily here and with strong winds ... so the timing for this break in the weather was perfect for sunset.
Durant plusieurs siècles, des mines d'or furent exploitée à Gondo.
