Many of you will have noticed my absence from social media in general for the past few months. Some of you may even know the reasons behind it, but for this that don't, I've been on an epic adventure which has taken me a little while to get over.
For 3 months of this year I lived on Pitcairn island, a tiny speck in the vast Pacific. It is Britain's last remaining overseas territory and home to fewer than 50 people (while I was there 47 people were on island, including 5 off island government employees).
There is one boat on and one boat off, and they come on three month rotations, so I was actually stuck.
It is one of the world's most remote places and has a very unique history - but because of the location and poor communications, many young people leave and the ageing population means the island's days are numbered.
I was on BBC Radio yesterday talking about it here and my documentary will go out of radio 4 next week here. For those in the UK it's 11am on Radio 4, and if you want to listen live you can use Hola (the chrome plugin to access the BBC from anywhere in the world).
I am only releasing a few images at the moment, but there will be a lot in the pipeline!

Il carnevale è una delle tradizioni più antiche della città di Varallo (Valsesia), in provincia di Vercelli. Le manifestazioni si svolgono ogni anno tra gennaio e marzo: in questo periodo la città è governata dalla maschera Marcantonio Carlavèe e dalla sua consorte Cecca, che organizzano feste, balli e cene per rallegrare i sudditi e portare gioia e solidarietà a tutti i cittadini, soprattutto bambini e anziani.
Il carnevale di Varallo inizia ogni anno il 6 gennaio (giorno dell’Epifania) con la sfilata della “Veggia Pasquetta” e si conclude il mercoledì delle ceneri (giorno di inizio della Quaresima) con il Processo a Marcantonio ed il rogo.
