After things started to change so much on the local scene that it became almost unrecognizable to me I made a few trips to the MRL to see the type of power that used to run by my front door on a daily basis. This view has F45 391 leading an ex SP 7556 along with BNSF 919 and 6738 doing battle with the grade as they hoist a rack train eastbound up Bozeman Pass in July 2004.

Lok 2004 nadert met IC97 van Brussel Zuid naar Zürich het plaatsje Assesse. Het schijnt bijna gedaan te zijn met de reeks 20 voor deze trein, in april zal de reeks 18 het stokje overnemen.
Sorting out old and unprocessed files on the Lightroom catalog I came across some shots from Aira Force in the Lakes in 2004, taken as JPEGs on my first digital camera, a Canon 10D. Unusually for me I was using a tripod, as these shots show.
The summer 2004 was a good picture summer for me, and my picture "Summer beauty was taken when I was driving up to the national park of Snæfellsnes Peninsula where I can find one of the most recognized sights in Iceland, the glacier covered cone volcano Snæfellsjökull. Its mythical atmosphere became famous through Jules Verne’s novel “Journey to the Centre of the Earth”. ( both new and old film )
Many of the famous Sagas unfolded in this spectacular area; a home to elves, trolls and ancient sorcerers. Rich bird life attracts photographers and other to be there for weeks. The peninsula itself is often called “Iceland in a nutshell” because of its diversity of landscape.
I drive through mighty lava fields, craters and ashes of ancient eruptions enjoying wide-open stretches of light-coloured sand on the beaches where only the tide sets a limit to the freedom of traveler. Hítardalur Valley comes as a surprise with multicoloured mountains like you see on picture. Majestic Snæfellsjökull (picture can be found in my file here) rises ahead of me when I traverse the beach on a traditional trail only known by the locals. Crater Eldborg is a landmark, where the light sand turns black once you reach its lava field. My friend, you have to see this :)
The front interior of the lower floor of 2004 Transbus ALX400 bus body, with a Volvo B7TL chassis and a Volvo D7C 7.3 litre diesel engine, Reg.GN04UDU of Arriva Southern Counties (Kent & Surrey) (No.6405) at Chatham Quays, Kent, 27 October 2022.
Walter Alexander designed the ALX400 bus body for use with the Dennis Trident 2, Volvo B7TL (designed by Leyland and initially built in the UK) and DAF DB250 chassis, production commencing in 1998. In 2000, Alexander merged with Dennis and Plaxton (which had bought Northern Counties and parts of Duple) to form Transbus and the Alexander ALX400 was renamed the Transbus ALX400.
As Alexander and Dennis were now part of the same company, the ALX400 when using the Dennis Trident chassis was effectively a semi-integral bus, although the Volvo and DAF chassis remained options. In 2004 Transbus was put into administration and was subject to a management buyout, renaming the company Alexander Dennis Ltd (or ADL) and the ALX bus was renamed accordingly.
Production ceased in 2006. However, the replacement was the ADL Enviro 400 which was an update of the ALX400 and available as an integral bus (although the chassis was still branded as a Trident 2 for a few years!) or with Volvo, Scania or MAN chassis.

The second generation Opel Frontera was built from 1998 until 2004. Like the first generation it was a badge engineerd version of the Isuzu Rodeo. Elsewhere in the world the car was also sold as Chevrolet, Holden, Honda or Vauxhall.
