Started as new top model in 2000, Marin Stelvio went through Columbus Altec 2 tubeset in 2000/2001 and Dedaccai V107R tubeset in 2002. 2003 is the last year of Stelvio and is the only year with steel tubeset, and Columbus UltraFOCO is among the best steel tubeset the company has offered.
In 2003, Marin founder Bob Buckley stepped back as acting president after a three-year hiatus with the desire to refocus the brand’s product offerings. Several steel road models, like Stelvio, Treviso and San Marino were dropped after 2003. Some of the models came back later with Aluminum frames.
2003 Marin Stelvio, made by Billato Linea Telai, who've done large volume high-end handbuilt frames under contract for a number of companies, including Guerciotti and early Lemond. They did all the road frames for Marin in the late '90s/early '00s.

The first generation of the C3 was launched at the 2001 Frankfurt Motor Show, as well as the 2001 Bologna Motor Show, and began marketing in January 2002, as a five door hatchback. It was available with 1.1, 1.4 and 1.6 litre petrol engines, and 1.4 and 1.6 litre common rail diesel engines.
All models came as standard with a five speed manual transmission, except for the Stop & Start model, which came with the SensoDrive gearbox, a five speed semi-automatic transmission with paddle shifters and manual and automatic modes. The top level was the only version that had the option of a four speed fully automatic transmission.
In accordance with the PSA Group policy, the C3's chassis was used for the Peugeot 1007 and the Peugeot 207. Many components of the C3 are the same as those of the Peugeot 206. Some versions of the C3 feature a start-stop system that can automatically cut the engine when not needed to save fuel, such as in traffic, and restart it briskly to move on again.

PERSONAL FUN FACT: This Kayla doll is a knockout...but also a tad goofy looking at the same time. She has a slightly wonky eye placement, but I think it gives her extra character. I immediately knew who she was when I yanked her out of a plastic bag at the local flea market. It was October 2025, when I happened upon a group of 18 dolls underneath someone's table. I was very interested in getting them all, because about half were African American characters/variations. It's definitely not something you see everyday. And as someone who specifically has always collected/played with the AA girls, I was very excited. Kayla was still donning her factory ensemble. I knew it was from the Really Rosy line, since I'd gotten Barbie's outfit some years before. I also recalled that Kayla was one of the characters, though both her and Lea often share the same head mold. We dubbed this great group of dolls the "Barbie Blast Lot." Kayla was one of the newer ones, which explains why she didn't look very played with. I think she's super striking, what with her long highlighted hair and rosy makeup! I'm also very partial to this head mold...I love it when Barbies have closed lipped smiles.

The Chrysler 300M is a full-size luxury sedan that was produced by DaimlerChrysler from 1999 to 2004. It is a front-wheel drive, 255 hp (190 kW; 259 PS) V6 engined car using the Chrysler LH platform. It was 10 inches (254 mm) shorter than the Chrysler Concorde to make it exportable to Europe as a sports sedan, and was priced above the Concorde. The 300M was positioned just below the flagship LHS (1999–2001), and Concorde Limited (2002–2004).

Some of the floats were larger than my house - you can see how tall it is from the viewing stands in the background. And you don't get firemen like that on the North Yorks Moors.

It was almost as if my last blog post about not having met any Vietnamese whose relatives had fought in the war was a wish. Yesterday I had lunch with a boy whose father fought against my father in the war. His name is Ha and he was also born in 1974. His father was a career soldier for the North Vietnamese Army. Ha is very different from many of the other Vietnamese boys my age I have met. He has an M.B.A. and he is very serious in demeanor. Also, his opinions are not anything but patriotic. He is my guide for visiting some sites in Hanoi and travelling to Halong Bay. Appropriately, Ha took me to the Ho Chi Minh mausoleum (which had a much longer line outside than Lenin's tomb did when I visited Russia in 1994) and the Ho Chi Minh museum.
The best part is that not only did we have lunch together, but I convinced him to come out to sing karaoke with me in the evening (Asian-style with our own private room). He sang a few Vietnamese songs and also one in French. I started by singing "Hotel California," (and Ha knew most of the lyrics), and then "Hey Jude" by the Beatles. We got up and danced to "Do You Really Want to Hurt Me?" by Culture Club and "Ob La Di" by the Beatles. Perhaps the most amazing part was when I chose "Imagine" (a song I first heard when my dad played it for me and my brother when we were little kids on his tape deck in his Datsun 280Z car on Cape Cod together), and Ha sang along with me a bit. I think that was my favorite moment of the entire trip. It was incredible -- our fathers fought against each other in a war, and 29 years later we were singing along to John Lennon together in a karaoke bar in Halong Bay. It just confirms the belief I've always upheld -- salvation can be found in a karaoke bar.
