[I can hardly believe I took this photograph with my very first digital camera - a 1.1mp compact....but I am very happy at the result ;-) ]
The time has come to finally (safely) dispose of my iBook that I bought in Japan back in early 2003. We haven't used it in years and it really isn't good for much anymore except playing Region 2 DVDs — a job that's been taken away by a slim, USB-powered drive I've recently picked up. So, it was off to the electronics recycling heap. I have a feeling the computer will enjoy another life, however, as the guy who took it off my hands was asking all kinds of questions — including whether it might not still be good "for a kid, let's say" ;-)
On display at Intuit Gallery. I'm fairly certain it was June of 2003, even if this says it was 2001.
BOX DATE: 2003
MANUFACTURER: Mattel
DOLLS IN LINE: Barbie; Christie; Kayla
MISSING ITEMS: Boots
PERSONAL FUN FACT: Mattel didn't exactly go the creative route with the designs of these Really Rosy outfits. Don't get me wrong, I do very much enjoy Kayla's ensemble. The fur trim collar is an interesting addition. Personally I'm not a fan of fur, real or faux. But it does add some extra flair to the outfit. The rose print is GORGEOUS...definitely something I'd love to see on a dress for Barbie. The denim skirt (which isn't really denim by the way), is very chic and modern. It's the kind of thing that would mix and match very well. When I say that these outfits aren't that "creative," I am referencing the fact that all the girls were sold in identical ensembles...just in different colors. I prefer it when the fashions compliment one another, but showcase their own designs. I do think that Kayla wears her getup the best though....it just suits her personality!
