Dieser Schneehahn hat bereits eine Partnerin aber in etwa einem Monat wird er um sie kämpfen müssen, denn dann wird die Balz beginnen und Single-Hähne werden versuchen die Henne zu erobern.
Nach dem, etwas erfolgsarmen Ansitz bei der Birkhuhnbalz gönnten sich Walter und ich das verdiente Morgenessen aus dem Rucksack. Wir setzten uns hinaus, auf einen tollen Aussichtspunkt über einer Felswand. Während wir uns zwischendurch auf Ringdrosseln in den kleinen Tannen nebenan konzentrierten, leitete der König der Lüfte an uns vorbei und stieg dann kreisend über uns in die Höhe. Da wir ihn zu spät entdeckten, gingen uns die besten Möglichkeiten durch die Lappen aber wir freuten uns auch über diese Fotos des Königs.
A very welcome visitor for the ceremony of the retirement of the French Mirage 2000C, was this Mirage 2000-5F coming from Luxeuil. Belonging to the 'Groupe de Chasse 1/2 Cigognes', this is a modernized version of the good old M2KC. This will now be the only 'blue' single-seater version of the Mirage in France.

20005 and 20048 pass Duffield on 6th August 1988 with 5M48, 14.10 Sheffield to Derby Etches Park depot with stock off the Skegness service.
On a bitterly cold but sunny day at Peak Forest 20005 and 20173 slog up the gradient from Great Rocks junction with a loaded rake of I.C.I Hoppers on February 24th 1986.

1953 Cadillac Series 62,
This Cadillac is a model known for its luxury and iconic design elements like the hood ornament shown are iconic to the year the car was manufactured. The hood ornament, often a stylized "V" and crest, is characteristic of Cadillac models from this era, symbolizing the brand's prestige.
Some cars are toiled over, and endless hours are spent fussing over details, some so insignificant that they are easily overlooked. Each detail, from the custom paint job to the upholstered interior, tells a story of dedication and a vision to a timeless design. Even the hood ornament is re-chromed then polished to a mirror shine and reattached.

Almost 40 years ago 20005 leads a class member north as it passes through Walton on what was at the time the Midland Main line. Instead of there being four mainline tracks this stretch of track now comprises just a single stub line that runs as far south as the then glass works at Monk Breton.
For those who know Walton this picture was taken just south of the footbridge. 20005 emerged from the Vulcan Foundry as D8005 in September 1957. Her working career lasted until July 1989 and she was scrapped a year later at MC Metals in Glasgow.
