Departing Port de Soller heading back for the railway station. The formation of this 'train' of trams is lead by ex Lisbon car 20, then two long trailer cars, then another Lisbon car (23) at the rear which has been rebodied but both cars still have their original style motors and the 'train' is through-wired so the front and back trams both provide power to this formation despite having just the one driver.

This is my kit lens. People told me it was crap before I bought the camera, but it's actually been the one lens I've used the most. It's my widest angle (18mm) and I really don't mind if I break it, so it's good for playing around with.

Until I can afford about £300 for a decent wide-angle lens (got my eye on the sigma 10-20) then this'll do.

Luke 4:16-30

New International Version (NIV)

16 He went to Nazareth, where he had been brought up, and on the Sabbath day he went into the synagogue, as was his custom. He stood up to read, 17 and the scroll of the prophet Isaiah was handed to him. Unrolling it, he found the place where it is written:

18 “The Spirit of the Lord is on me,

because he has anointed me

to proclaim good news to the poor.

He has sent me to proclaim freedom for the prisoners

and recovery of sight for the blind,

to set the oppressed free,

19 to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor.”[a]

20 Then he rolled up the scroll, gave it back to the attendant and sat down. The eyes of everyone in the synagogue were fastened on him. 21 He began by saying to them, “Today this scripture is fulfilled in your hearing.”

22 All spoke well of him and were amazed at the gracious words that came from his lips. “Isn’t this Joseph’s son?” they asked.

23 Jesus said to them, “Surely you will quote this proverb to me: ‘Physician, heal yourself!’ And you will tell me, ‘Do here in your hometown what we have heard that you did in Capernaum.’”

24 “Truly I tell you,” he continued, “no prophet is accepted in his hometown. 25 I assure you that there were many widows in Israel in Elijah’s time, when the sky was shut for three and a half years and there was a severe famine throughout the land. 26 Yet Elijah was not sent to any of them, but to a widow in Zarephath in the region of Sidon. 27 And there were many in Israel with leprosy[b] in the time of Elisha the prophet, yet not one of them was cleansed—only Naaman the Syrian.”

28 All the people in the synagogue were furious when they heard this. 29 They got up, drove him out of the town, and took him to the brow of the hill on which the town was built, in order to throw him off the cliff. 30 But he walked right through the crowd and went on his way.

I hope you enjoy looking through my Flickr images. Please consider helping me pay for my Flickr subscription, and to replace my scanner with something that'll produce better images from the past.

I'd like to rescan all of my older uploads in the fullness of time.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Thank you.

This scanograph is representing the article in how allowance starts at $10 dollars then it escalates to $20 then another $20 more and so on. The article also goes into detail about how teen girls then want the more expensive things like the necklaces to the fancier necklaces and same for the earring from cheap to more expensive.

Thought I'd throw in the wider shot that I crammed in to the corner to show the connections with rooms.

Took 2 shots, one at 1/3 and another at 1/20 then after DXO/LR, layered them in CS5 and erased to get the best parts.

Only the one flash through brolly. Was going to use more OC strobes but the 2 exposures worked. Do you reckon?

Bottom, LEGENDS: CHECKPOINT CHARGE

Fluctuated in price for awhile. Regular retail about $20-, then it went high, then low, then now about $12.99.

The flight-schedule boards are easy-to-read . . . and they are stationed every few yards along the walls of the concourse, with twenty seats in front of each !!

the only problem is that they are in Arabic !!!

Fortunately ARABIC-numbers are the ones which WE use . .

so if I know that my flight is No. 771, at 9.20 . . . then I will be leaving from gate-20 .... Simple !!

finally, after years of trying to finish a pair (seriously, i've been working on this for what feels like forever), i got one done. i can thank the free time i had during wheel watch for that.

also, you can see just one of my many, many bruises in this photo. take that one, multiply it by about 20, then scatter them all over my body and you have a good idea what i look like right now. clumsy should have been my middle name.

Started out by making a burn copy set at 20% Then use a burn brush on the sun spot to blend it in. Then made a Multiply copy and a back ground eraser to take it off of every thing but the top of the wall . Then to clean up the blacks i used a desaturation brush on the blacks that showed blue like by the water fall . then off to a Topaz detail and a quick denoise in Topaz then adjusted the burn again . Then used the saturation brush on some of the background to make the colors pop in the trees . A quick move over to Lightroom to rotate and a black adjustment just because it works better in LR for me then i converted it back to a JPEG and was done .

This weekend I decided to go to one of the villages of Varzaqan city called "Malek Talesh". At first, It was a good road to Varzagan, but after that, it changed in to the dirt road. The dirt road was not bad at first, But gradually, It get worse and worse. suddenly I regretted that what the heck am I doing in here. 😐

We continued our way, but after a while, I realized that, we are between so many mountains. No village, No forest, No human, Nor even any alive creature, except us. Nevertheless, we continued our journey and the road become worse and narrower. we were clearly between the devil and the deep blue sea. 😦😳

when it was a fork in the road, the decision become harder. In addition, we did not have any map or even internet. All in all, we did not have any problems, Because we have had a powerful magical key, that can solve any problems in the world.

After breathing deeply, I began to say the words:

Inky Binky Bonky,

Daddy had a donkey,

Donkey died, daddy cried,

Inky Binky Bonky.

and sometimes I used the other magic words:

Eeny, meeny, miny, moe,

Catch a tiger by the toe.

If he hollers, let him go,

Eeny, meeny, miny, moe.

That's how we choose the road and continued our journey. 😂😃

Unfortunately after a while, the dirt road with many small stone changed in to a narrow maze road with so many stones, rocks and shrubs in the road. OMG 😵😱

It was terrible and boring to drive on that kind of the road, but suddenly everything changed to be fun.

All the way, we had a music on, but that time the new music played on, and with that unintentionally shaking that we did on the car, I realized we need some wiggle and jiggle. (NOW OR NEVER)

So suddenly I push the brake pedal and jumped out of the car and began to dance. yoooohaaaaa 🙆😍 It was so fun.

What a pity that none of my friends danced with me. (to bad to be alone😟) Then we went back to our journey.

Finally, after awhile I saw a small little tiny village, pulling us toward himself, with that wild hawthorn fruit that we eat many on the side of the road, we become much enthusiastic to get there.

Yes, finally we reached that village called "Malek Talesh". But at the entrance of the village I saw a graveyard, with many half open graves, then I saw skull bones, Hip bones, chest bones and et cetera. It was almost 2 hours before the sunset that I remembered the ghost town, especially by seeing the open graves and ruined bones with old ruined houses. (Oh where am I? In a morgue!?) 😱😰💀

I park the car in the village and immediately met one of the villager, called Mr Vali. then we met village's teacher Mr Ali. (So kind people). we visit the village about half and hour and took many photos, It was a village with 60 people but I did not saw more than 20. Then we came back at the school and sleep there. But let me tell you about "Nightlife". 🙅💁

However, I know I can't explain it exactly, but after sunset, From 18:00 to 2:00 at midnight, we talked, argued, laughed even more. suddenly I saw thunder lightning, then began to rain lightly. Imagine to have a electric heater corner of the room and drizzling at the time with that pleasing river sound in the darkness, which made nightlife much more enjoyable. (No TV, No radio, No internet, No car's sound, Nor even being worry about anything, and better than the all, not having any phone signal). That was the one thing that made my life a lot happier that week.

For dinner and breakfast we had pasta, Local sheep butter, salty local cheese, fresh yogurt, local new cooked bread and barbary with natural honey (best honey ever I ate). especially drinking village's water witch came out of the mountains. It was entirely pure, natural and local. (I was in Paradise men). 🙏😇😎

We moved the next day. everything went as planned, except thick fog in the noon. so we had to drive so slowly. we could not saw more than one or two meter on that mazy road. 😵😬

For the first time in my life, I had some bodyguards, can you believe that!? (so interesting) Two of them were in the car, and the others were in the motorbikes, in front of me. after escorting us a few kilometers away, it was time to say thank you and goodbye. (Oh I don't want it, cause I don't like it!) Then we went our way back home. 😉

I wanted to share this excerpt from my upcoming novel, The Hungry Artist, which is semi-autobiographical. In the excerpt, I am a 20 year-old filled with an artistic flame but a measure of self-doubt as to the depth and value of my skill—if any—is at hand. I struggled walking along the line that divides between self-esteem and self-doubt.

___________________________________________________________________

From THE HUNGRY ARTIST:

"I AWOKE TO A RAINY NOON AND CLUTTER OF MY ROOM. The remains of last night’s painting session had not been cleared away. Paints, pizza, paint smeared rags, brushes, dishes lay strewn about. I wasn’t in the mood for housework.

I putted around, fixing a greasy fried egg sandwich and cup of coffee. I sat on a stool, half-dressed, flipping through an issue of some art magazine. I attempted to paint again, as if bookmarked from where I left off last night. Things were not going well. I stopped painting, surrendering to a feeling that my work was basically aimless and lacked a technique that accomplished artists seem to master so effortlessly. Of course, I knew that they had perfected their craft by studying and practice—tons of practice. I pushed back my chair and looked at the canvas for a moment sneering at the image. I got up, walking up down the floor. I turned and snatched the canvas from the easel breaking it in half.

Sitting near my easel, I would skim through a collection of rejection slips—having sent out expensive comps of my art to magazines or newspapers---hoping to be commissioned for anything---and I figured that these people caught on to that which I was beginning to discover: I hadn’t honed my talent yet, not fully. They had every right to reject me. That’s what I thought. I figured the rejection was based on a lack of education in the arts, on a lack of proper training—as if they somehow knew this. How naïve I was. I believed that employment prospects would immediately identify my talent and hire me on the spot. After all, strangers and friends alike have confirmed time and again my “obvious talent”—but everybody else, especially those in a position to hire this inspired artist, treated me as if I wasn’t even worthy to paint their garage door. How much rejection can a person take before a spirit crumbles?"

The first register is a long line of saints, with Christ enthroned in the middle of the line. The saints to his left (far end of the aisle) are Eastern, and those to his right (near end) are Western. Usefully, they have labels. Beginning at the far end outside the Chapel of Theodotus, we have: SS Erasmus of Antioch, Nicholas, Athanasius, Epiphanius, Cyril of Alexandria, Peter of Alexandria, Basil, Gregory Nazianzen and John Chrysostom. Then comes Christ, followed by Pope St Clement, Pope St Sylvester, Pope St Leo, Pope St Alexander, St Valentine, St Abundius, St Euthymius, (label lost -St Lawrence?), St Sergius, Pope St Gregory and St Bacchus(?).

The second and third registers comprise a series of panels depicting Old Testament scenes. The chronological order is from the bottom of the aisle to the top, with the upper (fragmentary) register first: Cain Kills Abel (Gn 4:8), The Animals Enter the Ark (Gn 7:9), The Flood (Gn 7:17-20), Noah Sacrifices to God (Gn 8:20). Then comes the lower register: Sacrifice of Isaac (Gn 22:10), Jacob's Ladder (Gn 32:24-30), Jacob Wrestles with the Angel (Gn 32:24-30), Joseph Recounting His Dream to His Father and Brothers (Gn 37:10), Joseph Sold to the Midianite Traders (Gn 37:28), Joseph Bought by Potiphar and Tempted by his Wife (Gn 39:1-7), Joseph in Prison (Gn 39:20), Feast of Pharaoh (Gn 40:20-21).

Looking down into the stream I see the reflections of the leafless trees and the leaves floating on the water. The blue sky is also there, below me in the water. Everything is very still. Now and again another leaf spirals down to the surface of the water. I could stand here a long time looking down into the reflected world.

Home from our walk I split a few logs from the fallen tree that is slowly disappearing into a woodpile for winter 2019/20, then a quick meal and out again.

Our evening outing was to another concert in Häggdånger Church. This one was music from Arvo Pärt, and then from Beethoven. It was meant as a contrast and it was certainly that. The total calm of Arvo Pärt followed by the hysteria of Beethoven - I think I'm allowing my prejudices and preferences to show here in a way that is rather unfair to Beethoven. However, since getting home we have been listening solidly to our Pärt CDs.

If I wanted music to listen to whilst gazing into reflections in a pool it could absolutely be Arvo Pärt.

Two of the pieces we listened to were Spiegel im Spiegel, 10 minutes 27 sec of quiet beauty, and... Fur Alina - just 3 minutes 35 sec long.

On this day we took WA 21 south off of highway 20, then proceeded west over the mountains via Manila Creek Rd/Peter Dan Rd, then south into Coulee Dam on WA 155. At this point in our motorcycling career, WA 21 was a favorite -- but we had never tried the smaller roads that traverse the mountain. We ran into a woman biker who told us Manila Creek was a good one and decided to go for it, It ended up being a challenging but beautiful ride...that we've never repeated.

After work today, Paul and I rode our new (to us) electric bicycles home from the bike shop. The ride was only four miles, but with an elevation change of 400 feet in the last couple of miles. *My friend Christina says that riding an electric bike is like being 18 again. Paul and I first rode bikes together the year we met; I was 20 then.

This is my first attempt at one of these.

I started with a Distorts->Lens Distortion Main -40 - to give a fish-eye effect. Not sure why!

Then I did the quick mask with a bilinear filter with an offset of 20. Then I tweaked this by hand with some "lighten only" linear filters and the eraser.

Then I just used Gaussian blur (40), followed by select all and colour enhance.

Just saw the Nikon camera info in the EXIF info - this means my dad took the original (in 2002).

I don't immediately get that sense of wonder from this, so all constructive comments are very welcome!

I was very lucky with shutter speed as had on aperture as they were all still, think 1/250 captures the movement of wings with bird reasonably clear.

On the great dress hunt - dresses are so difficult for me to find because despite being fairly busty, I'm smaller in the shoulders but bigger in the waist (stupid tummy).

This one I found at Smart Set, marked down from $50 to $20, then because the belt loop was damaged I got another 10% off!

(This is a terrible photo. I apologize.)
