This year, we dedicated 5 beautiful families: 3 on Howe Drive and 2 on Cherry Street. With a formal ceremony, Habitat for Humanity Waterloo Region presented these families their new homes. They all worked so hard to put in their 500 'sweat equity' hours, and in turn, hour by hour, these brave and dedicated families built their homes and conquered their journey and accomplished their DREAMS!
They have morphed from Partner Family to Homeowners. CONGRATULATIONS all of you.

I had a week in Italy last year during which we travelled on Barbi Galileo coaches and very good they are.

I just bought Madagascar 2 on dvd. Just because of a scene where Alex the lion is a baby. Lools so cute.
Anyway, I wanted to take a self portrait that would show how i've been feeling for the last couple of days.
And it's been a failure. All the pics are blurry, the idea was dumb, the light was poor. Yuck !
A failure.... Yep... and that's exactly how I feel. Isn't it ironic ?

On January 3, the Chinese Chang'e-4 spacecraft made the first successful landing on the Moon's farside. Taken by a camera on board the lander, this image is from the landing site inside Von Karman crater. It shows the desksized, six-wheeled Yutu 2 (Jade Rabbit 2) rover as it rolled down lander ramps and across the surface near local sunrise and the start of the two week long lunar day. Ripe for exploration, Von Karman crater itself is 186 kilometers in diameter. It lies within the Moon's old and deep South Pole-Aitken impact basin with some of the most ancient and least understood lunar terrains. To bridge communications from the normally hidden hemisphere of the Moon, China launched a relay satellite, Queqiao, in May of 2018 in to an orbit beyond the lunar farside. via NASA go.nasa.gov/2QlqLgA

THESE SHOTS WERE TAKEN THROUGH GLASS. All the meerkats were asleep under logs but just as in the wild they had the one meerkat on lookout duty, which must be pretty boring for him as he never has to warn them to take cover in their burrows.

Detail on top of Wichita Fire Station Number 2 on the southeast corner of Lewis and Topeka. It was built in 1931 and was closed and replaced in 1984 by the current Fire Station #8 at 1240 S. Broadway. This station is now used as a storage facility by the City of Wichita.
