A Selection of Single Deckers 2
on Dennis Basford’s railsroadsrunways.blogspot.co.uk’
I have attended a number of SHOWBUS events over the years but this was the first time I had attended one at the Hertfordshire County Showgound.
The 50th. show and if we are to believe what we read, the last.
It would be a great pity if the reputation the SHOWBUS name has built up over the years were to be lost but we shall have to wait and see.

I was never happy with the fringe texture for my Oval Persian rug, nor could I find one on the web that allowed a license of CC-BY-SA 3.0. So in this session I will model fringe and prepare to use its render as texture. Next session I will use Gimp to refine the render to be able to use it as a suitable texture for my Rug. I've already started making the second wrist warmer now. They are so pretty with the glittery sock yarn! I got the yarn on sale at a fiber fair for 2 bucks a skein. Pretty Cool!

Even Fungi situated in certain ways can add a bit of accent to the general landscape.
The late, Doris Duke, had left a wonderful legacy in converting her magnificent estate into a Natural Wildlife Preserve for the public’s education and enjoyment. The paths throughout the estate offer such splendid scenery. One is forever exploring, always seeing something subtly beautiful. There are always pleasant surprises, from the general scenery to the world of birds and other wildlife, including tiny insects and flowers that are quite enjoyable to observe and study. The bucolic nature of the preserve is so relaxing—akin to meditating while experiencing the landscape. The beauty of visiting Duke Farms is that so many incredible views are there simply by absorbing the surroundings. Besides the wonderful diversity of nature’s jewels, Doris Duke has left a part of her legacy through her passion for art—well situated throughout the preserve is a collection of glorious sculptures and fabulous examples of supreme stonework and design in the bridges, old ruins of enormous barns and stables, and a variety of other structures. The old Hay Barn ruin with its fabulous sculpture garden is truly a favorite of ours, for each and every statue seems to possess a spirit and sense of life. The landscape and backdrop can alter the mood, accordingly, depending on the time of day and seasonal changes in particular. So, spotting new and fascinating wildlife (both animals and plants) and art never ceases to add to the experience.
The infinite amount of wildlife of the “Wee World” (mostly insects and such) plus flowers and plants of a wide range and the very tiny birds here provides constant opportunities to learn and study about the nature of each species and how they are interrelated to their surroundings. Furthermore, the simple appeal of the meadows sprawling with endless hidden, behind-the-scene gems, by just LOOKING a bit more carefully, enables one with incredible special photo opportunities.
