Norton Priory #2
On the Sunday that we visited Norton Priory Museum and gardens, we visited the large Georgian Walled Garden which includes orchards, a rose-walk and an herb garden. This part of the site is open to the public during the summer period, but we were only allowed to take Ted, our family dog, inside because that day was, for once, opened as a dog-friendly day. The lovely walled gardens are home to the UK’s National Collection of Tree Quince, and the gardens and grounds support a wide variety of plants and shrubs.
This objective is technically a replica of a more expensive Zeiss‘s objective. The objective has proven very good, very compact - but possibly somewhat difficult to handle. It can be used successfully for portraits, fine art photography, still life etc. It is said to give a sense of “timelessness”, as the photos with this objective don’t look like something taken on an mobile phone or modern objectives. The 'bokeh' is also pleasant.

Now, for those who don't know me and my esteemed house mate, Jeff. We are somewhat addicted to Spot the Difference 2 on the Itbox games machine in our local pub. We act under the pseudonym "SSR 2006", which is an abbreviation of "Single Storey Residence" against those cretins that describe our humble abode as a... as a... as a... bungalow! ha ha. Anyway, we're sh*t hot at it and held the top score for 344 days, until last night... when we beat it! The funny thing is, we haven't played for at least a month, and it was our first 50p! Still didn't win any money though! Can anyone top this score? Or more probable, anyone else this sad!?
‘Scene’ in Reading 2
on Dennis Basford’s railsroadsrunways.blogspot.co.uk’
The town of Reading lies 40 miles to the West of London and in bus terms it is one of the most progressive places in the country.
It has a superb modern railway station that is the destination for virtually all the buses that operate within the town.
For an earlier blog illustrating double deckers in the town see blog published 11/01/2019.
For previous blogs illustrating gas powered buses in the town see blogs published 30/04/2016 and 03/02/2018.
What a lovely fleetname.
New as LSK 509 to ‘Parks of Hamilton’.
To state the obvious, there is no way in hell there should be an SD40-2 on the ZEMCH, EM for East Minneapolis, MN. Second, it SHOULD have lead out of town yesterday, but the crew b/o'd it and turned it. And with all of that wacky stuff listed, it just HAPPENED to be sporting its original Can Opener.
These are the 9 art cards I created for the Doodle Swap Project, group 2, on January of 2011. I really enjoy exchanging art with these great bunch of artists.
You can visit:

I really encourage everyone to join in. It is a great experience, and an awesome way to meet and connect with some great artists around the world.
I gave these titles (in order, from the upper left corner, left to right):
Emo Pinocchio, Puertorican Jibaro, May I Help You?, Please Wait For Verification, Wise Woman, An Invitation, One Please, Mr. Whipple?, Mall Angel.

Scene in Oxford 2
on Dennis Basford’s railsroadsrunways.blogspot.co.uk’
For part 1 see blog posted 12/12/2021.
All the images in this blog are of buses registered to subsidiaries of the
‘Go-Ahead’ group.
I have been taking photographs of buses in Oxford for some years and I have always been fortunate in having dry weather.
This particular day was in late autumn with a clear and sunny sky.
The only problem is that Oxford is a historic city with narrow streets and many tall buildings which between them create a variety difficulties with shadows.
As always, it is all about making the best of what you have.
I hope you enjoy this selection.
I have long been an admirer of ‘Wrightbus’ Eclipse Gemini body which is built on a variety of chassis.
The ‘normal’ appearance is that of a high domed roof.
For a number or reasons, some operators wanted a lower version with an almost flat roof.
Whilst it is still an attractive bus to my eyes, the lower height seems to completely change the character of the bus.
Returned to service following repaint, refurbishment at Blackburn Bus & Coach World and given Tyne Valley 10 branding upon its return to Go North East this vehicle will be based at two depots Hexham or Riverside depending where the vehicle finishes its duty seen here in Newcastle on Tyne Valley 10 Service 10A to Newcastle

‘Scene’ in Cambridge, ‘Stagecoach’ part 1
on Dennis Basford’s railsroadsrunways.blogspot.co.uk’
I should add that on the day I was in Cambridge, after a fairly wet and windy morning all the buses were carrying a degree of ‘weathering’ for which allowance must be made by the viewer.
‘Stagecoach’ are the major operator in the City.
New to ‘Stagecoach in the Fens’.
Lowered Volkswagen Type 2 on display with a later model camper and an early golf.

Design introduced in 1958. Some evident customisations: note the figure 2 on side of waist-level finder, the (uselessly) colourful ASA/ISO indicator inside the film advance knob, the (normally unpainted) red lock/unlock arrow and the non-typical focusing knobs more typical of the late 1960s or 1970s than the late 1950s when this model was introduced. The painted details appear to be enamel, and precisely done - perhaps to distinguish it as one of a pair of wedding cameras used for colour only?
