Arriving at the Ashmolean Museum in Oxford from the main entrance on Beaumont Street.
The day of our visit, there was a nearby fun fair on St Giles' and Magdalen Street, so some local roads were closed to traffic, but open to pedestrians.
The Ashmolean Museum of Art and Archaeology on Beaumont Street, Oxford, England, is Britain's first public museum. Its first building was erected in 1678–1683 to house the cabinet of curiosities that Elias Ashmole gave to the University of Oxford in 1677. It is also the world's second university museum, after the establishment of the Kunstmuseum Basel in 1661 by the University of Basel.
The present building was built between 1841 and 1845. The museum reopened in 2009 after a major redevelopment, and in November 2011, new galleries focusing on Egypt and Nubia were unveiled. In May 2016, the museum also opened redisplayed galleries of 19th-century art.

The combined building housing the Taylor Institution and the original "University Galleries" (now incorporated as the Ashmolean Museum of Art and Archeology) occupies the site on the corner of St Giles's Street and Beaumont Street. It was built in 1841-45 to the Neo-Greek designs of Charles Robert Cockerell in Bath (Box Ground) stone on a plinth of Permian sandstone with the columns, pilasters and entablatures of Portland stone and decorations in terra-cotta. The Taylor Institution forming the East wing was founded, built and endowed by Sir Robert Taylor. The Ashmolean Museum, forming the central range and the West wing, has been altered and extended in 1892-5, 1900, 1908, 1923-8, 1933 and 1937-40. The most recent of these extensions (1939-40) giving a farther frontage on Beaumont Street was built in Clipsham stone for the rusticated ground floor, with Bath (Monks Park) stone for the upper storeys, to the design of E. Stanley Hall.

Es'hail 2 is a Qatari satellite, launched aboard a SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket on November 15, 2018. Es'hail 2 was built by Japan's Mitsubishi Electric company, and operates at 26° East longitude along a geostationary orbit to provide direct-to-home television services in the Middle East and North Africa region. The satellite features 24 Ku-band and 11 Ka-band transponders to provide direct broadcasting services for television, government and commercial content distribution. In addition to commercial services, the payload of Es'hail 2 includes a linear transponder with a bandwidth of 250 kHz and 8MHz for the amateur radio satellite service, with uplink on 2.4 GHz (S band) and downlink on 10.45 GHz (X band).

- Stock outfit is very unique and all, but not really the style I would like my girl to wear and they stained!! so I might just store it and let it rot inside the cupboard... Still will wear the boots though, somehow!

Red brick on rubble with granite plinth, mid-floor strings and keyblocks to flat brick arches; modillion eaves cornice also to central triangular pediment with lunette over; original grouted scantle slate roof to No.1 (right), Delabole slate to No.2 and dry slate to No.3; 2 brick axial stacks and end stack on right; hipped ends. Double-depth plan. 3 storeys. Terrace of 3 houses designed as a unified "palace" front, each house originally a symmetrical 5-window front, the central house emphasised by having the central 3 bays broken forward and pedimented. The symmetry of No.1 is lost since 2 shop fronts were inserted early C20. No.2 has a doorway inserted, at left and right in the former window openings. Windows of No.1 boarded over, other windows late C19 horned sashes or C20 windows. Original open-pedimented and pilastered doorways with round-arched fanlights, spoked to No.1. INTERIOR of No.2 includes semi-circular arch between vestibule and stair hall, original open-well staircase with stick balusters and ramped handrail scrolled over newel, some original doors and original chimney-piece to 1st-floor right-hand room. Led by Chico Mendoza, Ocho have been featured heavily in Soul Jazz Records "Nu Yorica" series and these re-issues are the three definitive albums by the group. Along with other artists such as Ray Barretto, Eddie Palmieri, Joe Bataan and Tito Puente, Ocho mixed Latin, Funk and Jazz in equal measure. The music of Ocho has never been fully available in this country before and Soul Jazz Records are releasing them in their entirety for the first time. These releases come on CD and luxury vinyl.
