Bath Time
I saw this hawk perched on 2 different cars close to my house. On my way to Sheboygan, it was gone, but a bit further down the road I saw it taking a bath in this puddle. I'm not sure if it was injured or just wanted to hang around the neighborhood for a bit. After taking a few shots, it flew away.
Sean & Inger Rankins' Havhesten was built in in Langesund, Norway and launched in 1945. She's been sailing and racing in the Port Townsend area, under various rigs, since 1990. She sank during a race some years ago, but was raised and repaired to race some more.
Day 175 of 365. Usually when I ask small children to do a certain pose for me, they give a really funny and interesting interpretation of them. But only when they're in a good mood. So usually it takes a few minutes of mood-building and persuasion before the shoot. If I succeed, you get poses such as this one by my lovely niece, Tara.
