My little Jem....

Too tired to think of a title today. Just got home from work and I had to snap a quick shot of Jem in her new ET helmet that I got at Blythe Con. Thank you so much Ruth! (and Hong) ;)

Hope you all have a great weekend!!

While many Mat. '64 trains are scrapped now, this one is getting a repair at the Haarlem shops.

September 20, 2014, the 175th aniversary of the railways in The Netherlands was celebrated. Trips with historic trains between Haarlem and Amsterdam (the first route), open doors at the Haarlem shops and the display of "1839" engine De Arend (Eagle) were the main ingredients of the festivities.

When Ribble took over the services previously operated by Lancaster City Transport in late August 1993 a pair of open toppers was required to operate on Morecambe promenade. As it was near the end of the season the two open top vehicles were hired from other Stagecoach group companies, these being East Midland ECW bodied Bristol VRT 175, XRR 175 S & Cumberland MCW bodied Leyland Atlantean PDR1/1 1928, ERV 251 D, the VRT being pictured loading at Morecambe Town Hall.

This VR was tranferred to Ribble for the 1994 season & was numbered 2075 and was joined by similar vehicle UWV 622 S, which came from Southdown and was numbered 2076. The 1994 season saw the pair operate a tour of Lancaster & Morecambe rather than a straightforward promenade service and for this they wore a variation of Stagecoach livery with a caramel coloured, rather than white base.

The Lancaster & Morecambe tour wasn't a success and the pair were later transferred to Cumberland where they were repainted into the green & cream Lakeland Experience livery.

another furtive work shot. Not that great, not spectacular, or very interesting.

But it is a photo of my happiness. I am happy, and things are really coming together for me..... People have even noted a sparkle in my eyes of late....
