When Barry scrapyard was finally cleared in 1990 the last 10 locos in terrible condition were stored firstly in Cardiff and then later in Barry depot.
Now they are gradually being sold off for various restoration projects mainly for parts. They have been moved out of the shed and make an errie sight.
Anybody got a few quid for restoration ?
A very well preserved Renault 10 seen in Cluj-Napoca. The owner said the year of manufacture is 1964, a bit strange.
Gemma was waiting for the bus with her friend Gage (my stranger no 9). She had studied photography at college and had heard about the 100 Strangers group, maybe because someone from our town had done it previously. Gemma was happy to be photographed and unfurled her beautiful hair while I took a few shots. If you see this Gemma, I hope you like it.
This picture is #10 in my 100 strangers project. Find out more about the project and see pictures taken by other photographers at the 100 Strangers Flickr Group page
Agnes: Hey Julia, I missed you.
Julia: I missed you too.
Agnes: Yup. Really really missed you.
Julia: I missed you lots too.
Agnes: Yup. Going to just hold on to you for a bit.
Julia: That's nice and all, but what happens when I need to get up to pee?
Agnes: Not an option. We're cuddling so you need to stay here. Cuddling on the big bed.
Julia: And what happens if someone starts cooking in the kitchen?
Agnes: Someone's cooking? Really? I love cooking.
Julia: Well not now. It was more of a hypothetical question.
Agnes: Oh my God! Someone's cooking hypotheticals in the kitchen? I love hypotheticals! I gotta go before Bruno eats all of them without me.

My daughter Julia had quite the bump in the road health wise last week, but she's been out of hospital since Monday and has been recovering at home. The dogs were staying with a friend, but when they came back lots of cuddle time needed to be made up for.
Thank you to everyone for your comments, well wishes and prayers on last week's photo. They meant a lot to us.

Back in 2001 I saw one of Ben Beneke's red and black German steamers and it brought me out of my dark ages. Finally, I've built my own red and black steamer.
The DR 65.10 class was built in East Germany in the mid 50s for heavy commuter service. It differs slightly form the West German class 65. They served almost into the 80s and 3 survive in operating condition today.
I didn't know him, neither did he know me. He didn't speak the language I was speaking. I sat on the opposite side of the same room, and he left after about 10 minutes. 10 minutes. It was enough for me to feel his zest for life. I liked the way he made full use of his every moment. Liked his short-sleeved shirt, his jeans, his well polished shoes, and his big headphones -- they just matched well. To be frank, I'd love to try his free-style hairstyle, which left almost nothing on his head. I could imagine him letting his soul drifting along as if he was strumming his guitar.
At this very moment, I wish I was him, to have the power to suppress whatever goin' on in the hustle and bustle of daily life.
10 January 2013. Narrowboats tied up on the Regent's Canal in front of the Fish and Coal buildings. King's Cross, London, England UK. Taken with a Canon TS-E 90mm f2.8 tilt and shift lens for that "Toy Town" look. The Fish and Coal buildings were built as offices to house clerks employed to monitor the flow of freight through the goods yards. The first block was built in 1851 as part of Lewis Cubitt’s design for the Goods Yard. Additional blocks were built in the early 1860s.

First off I'm sorry you're looking at this horrible paint picture of the Count.
Second, I've just discovered that I just passed over 10,000 views on my photostream--yay! I will have been on Flickr for a year come December. Anywho, thanks to those who've been watching my stuff, and sorry to those who will now be dropping me as a contact because of this horrible Count picture. ;)
