‘Scene’ at Transpire’s Peak Park Bus Gathering 2022 /3

For some years now, this event has been held at the ‘Peak Rail’ site at Rowsley in Derbyshire.
There was plenty of room for the 35 or so buses the event attracted together with the added bonus of the trains provided by ‘Peak Rail’.
This year being steam only.
A return to the traditional June date was welcome because last year the event was held in August due to the problems caused by the Covid 19 pandemic.
In this image, a compilation of three independent Sminthurides cf bifidus/penicillifer found in the same sample, male, female, female. I picked the largest specimens from the sample.

In image I, 2 branches are visible and the tip of the unguiculus (uu).
In image II, 3 branches are visible and the the tip of the uu.
In image III, 2 branches of the filament are visible and the tip of the uu is hidden - probably due to the angle of the specimen.
Literature research;
I learned that the apical filament is branched, but this filament is not a direct extension of the tip of the uu. Thus, NaOH is not useful to deter an assumed separation of the filament and the empodium.
Tough one, but I found some text about these species. Fjellberg lists penicillifer as having many branches. In his drawing (103C; page 180), the filament on claw 3 is drawn with many branches, but the tip of the uu is also drawn and deviates. see also drawing (104F, page 180).
Ferreira et al. (2021) describes Sminthurides bifidus as having 2-3 branches in the apical filament. Here also, the drawings distinct the tip of the uu from the apical filaments.

Yes, the Dam you've seen before in this photostream. Seems we all have an object or place that is our test subject. This appears to have become one of mine. As shot by the 1965 Polaroid 103 on Fuji FP-103C at f8.8.
When 103C was new it headed up the Milwaukee Road's Hiawatha between the Twin Cities and Chicago. When it was retired it went to "Bucksnort Junction," a railroad-themed diner at Tea, South Dakota. When the restaurant folded it was moved to Murdo, and now sits out its retirement days as an attraction at "1880 Town" along with a number of streamlined passenger cars.

This vehicle was new in 1965 to Bournemouth Corporation as No 103.

The showcase continues to be an amazing success and we're aiming to make next year's Showcase even better! The 2009 Showcase will take place over TWO NIGHTS in the HISTORIC KIMO THEATER in downtown Albuquerque. The 2009 show will continue to feature an art show in the adjoining Kimo Theater gallery space.
I used to watch this all the time, first on Liquid Television on MTV in the 90s (REMEMBER THAT SHOW?!?!?) and then when it became a series though I mostly remember it didnt make sense. I passed on the first boxed set in the mid 2000s so I snapped it up this time.
