Song by Five for Fighting
Writer: ONDRASIK, JOHN
I'm fifteen for a moment
Caught in between ten and twenty
And I'm just dreaming
Counting the ways to where you are
I'm twenty two for a moment
She feels better than ever
And we're on fire
Making our way back from Mars
Fifteen there's still time for you
Time to buy and time to lose
Fifteen, there's never a wish better than this
When you only got hundred years to live ...
I'm thirty three for a moment
Still the man, but you see I'm of age
A kid on the way
A family on my mind
I'm forty five for a moment
The sea is high
And I'm heading into a crisis
Chasing the years of my life
Fifteen there's still time for you
Time to buy, time to lose yourself
Within a morning star
Fifteen I'm all right with you
Fifteen, there's never a wish better than this
When you only got hundred years to live
Half time goes by
Suddenly you're wise
Another blink of an eye
Sixty seven is gone
The sun is getting high
We're moving on ...
I'm ninety nine for a moment
Dying for just another moment
And I'm just dreaming
Counting the ways to where you are
Fifteen there's still time for you
Twenty two I feel her too
Thirty three you're on your way
Every day's a new day ....
Fifteen there's still time for you
Time to buy and time to choose
Hey fifteen, there's never a wish better than this
When you only got hundred years to live ...
I have posted a strangers photo for so very long but....
Today I met Rafael and that reminded me of this project.
Rafael came to this country 18 years ago on a work visa. He was born in Monterrey the capital and largest city of the northeastern state of Nuevo León, Mexico but grew up in Ciudad Juárez. He came to New Mexico originally for the hiking and skiing.
He is an engineer but more recently decided that real estate was his forte.
The gash on the bridge of his nose was from the car hood coming down and hitting him whilst out on a hiking trip with his two sons, ages 8 and 4. Rafael's hair is growing so he and his sons can donate it to a cancer charirty organisation. His eight year old son's idea and isn't that most admirable.
I loved talking with Rafael and no doubt we will meet again. Thanks Rafael for taking time to chat about so much.
I must admit I love the 100 strangers project and will do my best to complete it in 2022,

I seem to have been waiting a long time for the sun to appear for a last walk on Ashdown Forest for my 100x challenge. I had hoped for some snow or at least frost to end the year as I had begun it but no, it is still mild and has been extremely wet. The forest and woodland paths have turned into muddy tracks. This one still had dry areas but many were impassable for me as I was worrying about slipping and damaging my camera/lens!
I have so enjoyed this challenge of taking 100 photos in the forest and local woodlands this year. I have found myself much more in tune with the passing seasons and surprised myself by finding I was taking more photos of the small details around me; the buds, flowers, insects, fungi etc rather than the bigger picture.
The Jaguar SS 100 is a British 2-seat sports car built between 1936 and 1939 by SS Cars Ltd of Coventry, England.
The manufacturer's name 'SS Cars' used from 1934 maintained a link to the previous owner, Swallow Sidecar, founded in 1922 by Walmsley and Lyons to build motorcycle sidecars. In March 1945 the S. S. Cars shareholders agreed to change the name to Jaguar Cars Limited.
In common with many products of the thirties the adoption of an animal name was deemed appropriate and the model name "Jaguar" was given to a new SS saloon car in 1935, and then to all new SS models.
The '100' was for the theoretical 100 mph maximum speed of the vehicle.
Last Sunday I was wandering the streets of Soho, my favourite part of London when I spotted this really stylish guy in a stationery shop and decided I had to catch him for a portrait.
I quickly did an about turn so he would walk towards me (if he turned the way I thought most likely). When I stopped him to introduce myself he was absolutely lovely. I made a few portraits and explained it was part of my 100 Strangers project and told him how I was drawn to his style as he really stood out. Simon was delighted and told me that being stoped for the portrait was the highlight of his day - it was super to see how special a moment like this on the street can be and what a great impact it can have on the one person to of the thousands you was past that you approach to photograph.
Simon was a previous head of entertainment in a TV station but has since retired and now spends him time shopping and travelling. His net trip was off to Las Vegas (jealous much) to see his friend, Diana Ross (!!!) who s opening new show out there!
What a fantastic encounter -it made my Sunday special too!

After a week with no strangerhunting I was back on the streets trying to find my fifth stranger. I spotted this girl on Karl Johan Street. Her knitted cap and mittens cough my attention and I knew she would be a great stranger. I was happy to see that she had a knitted sweater under her jacket to. She had a real spring theme going on. Perfect for an April strangerportrait.
I asked for her portrait and she was a little reluctant at first, but as soon as I told her about the 100 stranger project she was happy to let me take her picture. I don’t know if she done some modelling in the past, but she was a great model to work whit. I find some strangers hard to photograph as they sometimes put on a nervous smile or are simply feeling awkward in front of a camera. Her pose was great and I’m really glad I got to shoot her portrait. Somehow I forgot to ask her name. I’m really sorry I forgot as I would love to put a name to her face. I post some of the stranger portraits on my facebook whit a link to the 100strangers group. After a couple of minutes an old school body told me she knew her. And I got her name after all:-)
