One more entry for Space Jam, and a drone to finish out Droneuary! This was fairly heavily inspired by . . (even down to this build's name), particularly with the hand and feet techniques coming from this build of his, only flipped. Anyway, I'm really happy with how this build turned out, I've had these clickit pieces for a few years now but had never actually used them, so getting a few of those in here was a main focus. The other main design elements I wanted to get in here were the kinda slender and alien-like appendages and skinny but long head (likely somewhat influenced by the various xenomorph builds I've seen), and I feel like they all work well here. Sadly the picture doesn't do this justice in my opinion, but if you're able to come to Bricks Cascade 2019 this will be there, along with some other stuff I'll be displaying!
Meet our little yellow girly, Moxy! She is a Miniature American Shepherd and the sweetest thing to ever exist. She loves people, dogs, and food. Also, she loves food. Did I mention the food part?
I'm excited to document Miss Moxy's life over the next 12 months. I've never started a project with a pup!

A first attempt at high speed photography with liquids...
Light was provided by 2 flashes (Nikon sb910 + Nikon SB26) set to 1/128 power (to get as short flash duration as possible) facing a white plexiglass sheet that was used as a background.
Got me 3 champagne glasses and filled them with various colored liquids. the leftmost was filled with water and blue jello powder , the second with wine and the rightmost with some kind of alcoholic drink that I had in my kitchen.
I glued the glasses on a dark glossy surface and let the whole contraption to glide on wheels to a sudden stop so as to create some splash !
Usually to make an image like this you need some kind of an auto trigger , like a sound trigger or a laser trigger to set off the flashes automaatically , but I had none so I had to experiment and rely on trial and error.
The room was lit with very low light as to able to see and judge when to remotely triger the flashes manually by hand.
The image you see here was the third of my attempts.
I am waiting for a laser trigger and I know that results will be more consistent and controlled.
Camera was a Nikon D800 set on manual fitted with a 24-70mm F/2.8 Nikkor @ 48mm with shutter speed set to 5 seconds and aperture set to F/4 at ISO 125.
a single NEFF file imported into LR (Prophoto color space) corrected for leveling , exposure , white balance saturation and minor spot removal , then passed over to PS6 for sharpening , cropping and Srgb export for web.
No Photoshop was used to alter the image whatsoever.
Το φως έδωσαν 2 φλάς ( Nikon sb910 + Nikon SB26 ) σε 1/128 ισχύς ( ώστε η διάρκεια του φλας να είναι όσο το δυνατόν μικρότερη) στραμμένα πάνω σε ένα λευκό κομμάτι plexiglass το οποίο είχε χρησιμοποιηθεί ως φόντο .
πήρα 3 ποτήρια σαμπάνιας και τα γέμισα με διάφορα έγχρωμα υγρά . το αριστερό με νερό και μπλε σκόνη ζελέ , το δεύτερο με κρασί και το δεξιό με κάποιο είδος αλκοόλ που είχα στην κουζίνα μου .
Κόλλησα τα ποτήρια σε μια σκοτεινή γυαλιστερή επιφάνεια και άφησα το όλο μαραφέτι να γλιστρήσει έτσι ώστε να δημιουργήσει πιτσίλισμα !
Συνήθως για να γίνει κάτι τέτοιο θα πρέπει να υπάρχει κάποιο είδος αυτόματης ενεργοποίησης , όπως ένα sound trigger ή ένα laser trigger για να ενεργοποιηθούν αυτόματα τα φλας , πράγμα που δεν είχα, έτσι έπρεπε να πειραματιστώ .
Το δωμάτιο ήταν σκοτεινό με πολύ λίγο φως , για να μπορέσω να βλέπω και να κρίνω πότε πρέπει να ενεργοποιήσω το φλας με το χέρι μου.
Η εικόνα που βλέπετε εδώ ήταν η τρίτη μου προσπάθεια.
Είμαι σε αναμονή για μια σκανδάλη λέιζερ και ξέρω ότι τα αποτελέσματα θα είναι πιο σταθερά και ελεγχόμενα.
Nikon D800 σε χειροκίνητη έκθεση με 24 -70mm F/2.8 Nikkor στα 48 χιλιοστά με ταχύτητα κλείστρου 5 δευτερόλεπτα και άνοιγμα φακού στο F/4 σε ISO 125 ?.
بإمكانك أن تستمتع بالجمال فيما تراه وتسمعه ،إذا فتحت قلبك للإحساس بالجمال ،
فإن الإحساس بجمال الأشياء كامنٌ في داخلك ،مغروسٌ في أعماق نفسك ،
مبثوثٌ في جوانب حسّك ... تأكّدْ أنّ الإحساس بجمال الأشياء كلِّها نابعٌ من ذاتك .

So this is most definitely happening. This, technically, sucks real bad. But it was rushed, it's cold and my 50mm is not working properly, so I had to shoot with a much slower lens, which in such low light wasn't focusing properly, and bla bla bla. It still is a self-portrait. I miss those and entering a 52 weeks is scary, but refreshing, and it will hopefully keep me on track this time.
I finally am announcing in a written statement that I miserably failed my 365. I tried for almost 3 years to drag the same 365 days project, because I simply couldn't accept defeat. I am now because I finally understood that in order to get better, to evolve and progress we need to accept and move forward. I need to. That is one of my goals this year.
I decided to start a 52 weeks project and tagged along the Let's Get Creative 2014! challenge and I am really excited to stick with it. Go take a look at the other entries by clicking here! :)
