Romans 5: 1 (KJV)
Therefore being justified by faith, we have
peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ.
When is humanity going to cotton on to this truth that it is this simple and profound.

I don't know which day is their birthday, all I know on September. Time goes so fast, they live with me for 1 year now, and they grow a lot.
This is an experiment in building a 1:15 figure.
I built this for a friend (you know who you are!) who might use this principle in one of his future builds.
Based a man of 6ft/180cms. Normally I would superhero-ify my builds by increasing the size of their chest, reduce their waist and lengthen their legs but this is guy has been left 'normal'.
I have purposely left him unfinished so details and gadgets can be added to him later. By changing the colours of the tiles you can easily create clothing.
It was challenging to produce a figure that can do all the poses required (see next photo). If required you can change the elbows to clip hinges (as opposed to plate hinges as shown here).
I hope you like him, at the very least I hope he has given you some ideas.

I think 1 of the Perseid meteors made it through our atmosphere... this looks too alien to be from here :P
Male Spiny Leaf Insect (Extatosoma tiaratum)
It's actually a species of stick insect, not a true leaf insect.
A bit strange that it was here where I live because they are a sub-tropical to tropical insect usually, which is why I was so surprised to see it.
If viewed at the wrong angle, the pointy end of its head looks like the front or mouth end... tilt your head to the left or right and you should see what I mean :)
Little male house finch. He had such pretty reddish color, he caught my eye from the kitchen window!

*Recommended reading before reading this: Batboy (album has been made)*
It has been a week since I got all of my memories back. Martian Manhunter gave me back my memories, and Bruce was able to get Strange's serum out of my system. I've been recovering ever since. I stand at the costume display in the Batcave, looking at the Watcher suit. Bruce didn't want it there, but I requested it be put there. It is still a functioning suit and it could come in handy in emergencies. It also reminds me of the things I've done as him, and I can't ever do those things again. I don't want to! Alfred comes walking up to me.
Alfrd: "Master Kenneth, would you perhaps like a hot beverage in the manor upstairs? You've been spending a whole week here in the cave, you really need some sunlight."
KW: "No, thanks Al. I've been working on something, and I really need it done."
Alfrd: "Let me guess, you want to go back out there?"
KW: "Maybe."
Alfrd: "I would strongly advise you not to. You are still recovering."
KW: "I'm fine. Really! I just need to undo the damage I have caused Gotham. There is so much I need to do. Strange's body hasn't been found, so that means he's out there."
Alfrd: "Master Bruce is handling that. You need to rest."
KW: "I can't Alfred. There are so many people I need to make up to. I've scared so many people with me 'dying' 3 years ago. I've hurt so many people. Lori, Melvin, Evie... I have to see them, and make up to them."
Alfrd: "Perhaps you should sit down."
KW: "Why? What did I miss?"
Alfrd: "Melvin did not believe you perished. He actually quit everything in his life to look for you."
KW: "Wait what?! Did he leave his family? He left Evie?"
Alfrd: "Yes. I'm not sure they broke up if that's your next question."
KW: "Crap... What about Lori?"
Alfrd: "She went missing as well. After...."
KW: "After what Al?"
Alfrd: "After her father killed her family..."
KW: "He... He what?"
Alfrd: "I have no idea what happened after that, she just vanished."
KW: "Oh my god..."
Alfrd: "I'm sorry you had to hear it from me..."
KW: "It's... It's okay Al. I just... I have to find them."
Alfrd: "I understand."
KW: "Thanks Al... I'll be upstairs for dinner tonight."
Alfrd: "I'll make your favourite. Fried chicken with bacon on the side."
KW: "You remembered?"
Alfrd: "How could I forget?"
As Alfred goes to the manor, I let sink in what I just heard. To get both Lori and Mel back it is very simple. I have to announce to the world that I'm alive.

So this was the first issue of Mandalorian. I will explain the title when I get there ;p. This will be the first of many issues to come! This will be my main storyline on this page, with other stories (like Firestorm currently) being sidestories. I hope you enjoyed this first issue, and are excited for more!
Still overcome with a bad dose of the flu, so didn't go to the Port Vale v Macclesfield match - instead I bought a pass to watch the game online, which was much more comfortable and I also got time to finish the book I've been reading off and on for the last month - Debbie Harry's autobiography "Face It". I've also signed up for the Good Reads app and have set myself a challenge of 25 books for the year. I'm hoping I can easily beat that, but we'll see....
Battery Park, NYC
There was really something strangely beautiful about walking Battery Park earlier today as the wind picked up, the clouds moved in, and the streets emptied. It was windy, wet, and cold but there was that 'moment' that I'm sure some of you who often go out and do anything by themselves, be it photography or anything else, have experienced.

Name: Hydra 1.0
Author: Philipp-Marius Kost
Designed: September 2016
Folded: January - May 2017
Paper: 60cm * 60cm VOG paper
Time to fold: 12 hours
Final length of the model: 27cm
Finally it's done!!!
After 12 hours of work spread to the past 5 months I finished my latest work, the (two headed) Hydra.
I tried to include as many details as possible. However finally I know it looks some kind of overloaded and it's maybe not clearly to define as a Hydra. But over all I'm verry satisfied with the final result and especially with the mystic touch given by the paper and the frightening pose.

MOCs: Sauber C33 & Williams FW36, modern interpretations of the LEGO sets Dragster from 1986 and Octan F1 Race Car.
Part of my "Updated Classics" series - an ever-growing number of sets I've re-interpreted in order to make them fit better with modern LEGO City vehicles and buildings...
...although I do have to admit that the story with these two was a bit different from how it's normally been with these updates. I normally take an old set and translate it into a newer shape - but after having built my F1 Transporter and Ferrari F14 T to go with it, I thought it could use a couple more F1 cars for company.
LEGO has produced a lot of small F1-style cars over the years, so I went through the whole lot to see if I could find one or two with colour schemes that vaguely reminded me of actual 2014 livery. I ended up with the oddly named Dragster, in black, and the Octan F1 Race Car, in white, which I felt could be translated into a believable Sauber & Williams duo.
And yes, the drivers' positions aren't perfect. The cockpits are the biggest design flaws - they're too open, and the drivers sit too high. But this is, I believe, the best compromise - any solution to make it look better would result in either mutilating the minifig or raising the cockpit profile, which ruins the sleek shape.
All stickers are official LEGO stickers (which explains the lack of proper Sauber/Williams logos on the cars).

Lego BMP 1 little tank I made to go allong with my T54.
Source Wikipedia
The BMP-1 is a Soviet amphibious tracked infantry fighting vehicle. BMP stands for Boyevaya Mashina Pekhoty 1 (Russian: Боевая Машина Пехоты 1; БМП-1), meaning "infantry fighting vehicle". The BMP-1 was the first mass-produced infantry fighting vehicle (IFV) of the Soviet Union. It was called the M-1967, BMP and BMP-76PB by NATO before its correct designation was known.
Hi Flickr friends! Finally feeling better after my second bought of a nasty virus. Hope everyone has had a great week!!! :)
The Tiger 1 was a famed (and feared) German tank of WW2.
It was my first WW2 AFV and has been overhauled two times. Finally, I'm totally happy with it.
The changes since the original are:
-Strengthened chassis.
-Completely new turret with better shaping and larger cupola.
-Lengthened chassis for an extra wheel and more detail.
-More detail with on the back of the tank.
-Removable part on the back of the turret to convert the Tiger from an early production model to a later model (If anyone could tell me what it's called it would be great).

One Rincon Hill and the San Francisco Bay Bridge as seen from Walter Haas Playground (amenities include complimentary mosquitos).
I was trying to find some views arounds Glen Canyon Park that Agus had shot. I couldn't find them, but I did find this little spot. I really like the spacing of the bridge towers from here, although you'd need about 800mm+ to fill up the frame with the bridge.

fin.
Switched out the 24-70 2.8 today to try out my 50 1.4G on the D700. It did not disappoint!
Jason you were right :)
This is Kirkhill Castle in the small village of Colmonell, in the Stinchar valley of south Ayrshire. Although long roofless, it still stands fairly complete to its wallhead, next to the more modern house that superseded it. There was nobody home when I visited, although I could hear the sounds of lawn mowing coming from the garden behind, so I took a couple of photos from the drive, which show most of what there is to see, and went on my way.
A new year, a new daily self-portrait project.
I struggled coming up with an idea/plan. I needed to be reasonable in finding something I can actually do every single day consistently. I had a few ideas centering around the word "raw." A "this is middle age" sort of chronicle with documentary-style photos and a combination of self-portraits overlaid with garbage from the day were two concepts I pondered. I like overlaying a second image as I did this past year. I loved the ones where I used writing.
Which brought me to this:
A daily self-portrait, any or all of me in it but all probably pretty raw/bare images, with an overlay of a short journal-style entry I write the same day about any thought(s) roaming my brain.
I'm going to try hard to write uncensored and be brave about what I post. This will be by its nature personal and intimate, and probably pretty weird at times too. :)

Restoration phase of this car meanwhile since September 2015 and some Euros later. Plenty technical parts were replaced and many optical things were done. Full car top service. New painted bumpers and sills.
The rest of the car has original paint.
The car is polished and sealed six times with "Petzolds Liquid Glass" product.
But it isn't really ready:-)
Between concerts, let's go back to portraits.
I still have a lot to learn but this is something I like a lot too :)
