Mayor's Snapper Derby (2010) - Glen Cove, Long Island, New York
The Mayor's Snapper Derby is an annual local tradition in Glen Cove, held in late August each year when the snapper runs are at their peak. (Snappers are young bluefish). The contest observes catch-and-release.

I accomplished what I set out to do today, sort of. The tree came down and all the laundry got folded. I was looking forward to date tonight, but when the time came, I wasn't feeling up to it. The icky weather made me want to stay in. It was one of those days where I stayed in my pj's all day, took a bath, then put on a fresh set. Oh well, there will be other date nights.
