I get a deep sense of inner peace when I see a beautiful bird such as this roseate spoonbill feeding and preening in a glassy surfaced lagoon, bathed in early morning light.

Arbirlot is a picturesque little village on the outskirts of Arbroath. It is a lovely spot to catch the autumn colours around the attractive waterfall and rustic stone bridge. Unfortunately I was too late in the season to get the colours at anything like their best but I’m treating this as yet another location scout and will revisit at a more seasonally appropriate time in the new year.
