A small falls near Girdwood Alaska. Loved the rainforest that surrounded it. Pure enchantment.

poi viene notte :-))))

The Cathedral of Vasily the Blessed, commonly known as Saint Basil's Cathedral, is a church in Red Square in Moscow, Russia and is one of the most popular symbols of the country. The building, now a museum, is officially known as the Cathedral of the Intercession of the Most Holy Theotokos on the Moat or Pokrovskiy Cathedral. It was built from 1555-1561 on orders from Ivan the Terrible and commemorates the capture of Kazan and Astrakhan. It was the city's tallest building until the completion of the Ivan the Great Bell Tower in 1600. The Saint Basil's Cathedral is not to be confused with the Moscow Kremlin.

Looking in the deepness of the eyes of this ageless Sadhu, I can perceive everuthing which has bewitched me of India, wisdom, sadness, life, death, richness, poverty, story, courage, tradition and the people. India is an ancient and strange place, difficult to understand and to know, but easy to love.

Riffelsee revealing his fascinating reflection on a calm & clear autumn morning. Perfect conditions for "His Majesty's" glorious appearance in the first light of the day.

Located in Shenandoah National Park in Virginia, Dark Hollow Falls is one of the most popular hikes in the park. Although the trail loop is less than 2 miles, the entirety of the hike and trail is set upon a very steep incline.

I was lucky to snag this image on the hike back up (and you better believe it was tough!). This particular vantage point was VERY crowded with other tourists; fortunately, I was able to wiggle my way to the front and this awesome shot was the result. Some late afternoon light left a brilliant glow on the upper falls that gave a nice contrast to the darker, more ominous shade from the foliage overhead. Not a bad way to end a tough hike!

still the Triberg Falls - I think I overprocessed this one a tiny little bit...

Blow Fly - Green Bottle (Neomyia cornicing). Saw this tiny fly today at work in Devizes, it had been caught by a spiders web on its leg. this gave me an opportunity to try and get a few shots while it rested in between fruitless attempts of escape, the spider soon won the day and all was over within 5 minutes. RIP tiny fly....Let me also say that the entire time this struggle went on I also struggled within myself....should I, or should I not let it go. Eventually I came to the conclusion that on this particular occasion I wasn't going to act like God, after all, by releasing the fly I could also be killing the spider. The Sword-billed Hummingbird is a charismatic species from Andean South America. It is found from Venezuela and Colombia in the north to Bolivia in the south. The species belongs to a monotypic genus, Ensifera, and is quite different from all other hummingbirds; metallic green and bronzed overall, with a black bill that is slightly upcurved and longer than the body length. This is the only bird species with a bill length that exceeds the body length. When seen perched, the species usually holds its bill quite upright, presumably because of balance issues stemming from this long and relatively heavy structure.

For me one of the most amazing hummingbirds of Ecuador! Taken at the amazing Zuro Loma Reserve.

Sea otters spend the majority of their day taking it easy, resting by floating on their backs. Groups or "rafts" of sea otters congregate in calm, quiet waters. The highest number of sea otters recorded in such a raft totaled over two thousand animals - that would have been quite a sight to see!

This one would float peacefully, stretch a bit and preen, then resume the "position." Sounds like a great way to spend a lazy, Friday afternoon!

Have a blessed weekend! Thank you so much for your views and comments! They are greatly appreciated!

The Great Court of the British Museum, Foster and Partners, 2000.

The Great Court is the largest covered square in Europe. The glass and steel roof is made up of 4,878 unique steel members connected at 1,566 unique nodes and 1,656 pairs of glass windowpanes making up 6,100 m2 of glazing; each has to be a unique shape because of the curving nature of the roof.

Marmolada Glacier (Ghiacciaio della Marmolada) is the only glacier in the Italian Dolomites. We took the ‘Funivia Fedaia Marmolada’ up Mount Marmolada to the toe of the glacier. This was part of the front during World War I. There is a lot of history in the area available in small local museums. Although I did not attempt it, associated with the war is the oldest, highest and longest via ferrata in the Dolomites.

Each year I ask for many different things

But now I know what my heart wants you to bring

So please just fall in love with me this Christmas

There’s nothing else that I will need this Christmas

Won’t be wrapped under a tree

I want something that lasts forever

So kiss me on this cold December night...
