Hope you like this portrait of our dog, Marnie. She takes me out with her every single morning and here she is, focusing hard on something in the distance. I had to grab my chance quickly and get down low, as she's incredibly difficult to get in the right pose. She moves her head so suddenly so I got loads of her all blurred ! She's 6 now, and has been with us for just under a year. She feels fully at home, her confidence has grown incredibly. Loving and intelligent and .. oh I must stop singing her praises. We all love our animals, but for me she's pure joy and yes, she's a real lady !
If you have time, she's best viewed large for all the details.

Hatchett pond is situated in the New Forest, close to Beaulieu. The sun sets over this cluster of trees and on a still day, the pond mirrors the trees and, with a bit of luck, the sunset.
The pond is a magnet for wildlife so you have to pick your moment to either include or exclude the miriad of ducks along with the wake they leave.

This surprisingly large waterfall is actually Manitoba's highest and it had a very high water flow when we were there due to the rain the day before.
According to a song from Whtiney Housten: "And in that moment of time I will feel, I will feel eternity". Now, here we have one short moment inside St. Peter's Basilica. It may be a photographic approach to bridge past and presence with the captue of movement, with the capture of one single moment in time.
A memory of last summer. I took this capture in end July during a pretty chilly week - shortly after the first really hot days here in Bavaria, and just before even hotter August would arrive.

A stormy monotone depiction of the highest mountains on the North American continent. Mt. Hunter on the left, King Denali on the right. As a peak freak viewing Denali was a priority and highlight of last summer's trip to Alaska. True nuff, all the other peaks bow to it's glory.
This was a rare view between the thick forests along the Petersville road. A tighter color version in comments.

It's late afternoon and storm clouds are coming in, with a long drive back to Banff via the Icefields Parkway still ahead.
Thankfully the rain held off until I made it back to my warm and cosy hotel room!
1O years ago, a cheap camera in my bag, could not shoot to save my life. Went for a couple of months to SF, took may be 2000 thousand pics, if 10 came out watchable I m lucky. Here is one , yes yes, you can laugh.

The California Nebula is an emission nebula located in the constellation Perseus. It is so named because it appears to resemble the outline of the US State of California on long exposure photographs
