Happy Easter!

In order to get sunset pictures, the water taxis I took, speed out to the open waters of the lagoon that surrounds Venice! The sun's glow filled the sky and the water.

I'm grateful for visit, favs and comments of my photo.

Note from 2021: It's hot, the south of the country is literally on fire, the north of the country is battling with floods, the pandemic continues to soar and nothing seems to change for the better; this is one of those moments in life, you feel you are losing it all. This place is a lighthouse in fog and storm. Keep your calm, stay on route, weather the times!

But my thoughts go to the people in Simbach/Inn (Lower Bavaria) - their town has been flooded by mud and heavy rain showers. Seven deaths have already been reported and some other people are still missing.

My view was mostly blocked by trees when a pair of swans flew right past me on a recent day, but I managed to grab a shot of one of them through an opening between leaves. I think the reverse "leafkeh" makes for a somewhat interesting look.

Just foolin' around for Textural Tuesday. I started with a clear blue sky and ended up here. This Great Blue Heron is carrying a stick because it's on a nest-building mission.

Having now seen the American and European Kestrel side by side I have to say the American one is far more photogenic, however in this particular case it was also the most vocal :-).

Here's one of my favorite takes from our trip to the Silver Thread byway this past fall. I am in love with the complex geology on display and couldn't have asked for nicer fall color.

Have a great week all!

One of the most distinctive building in downtown Guelph is the four story Petrie Building, with its green painted wooden window panels and stamped galvanized iron facade. One of the very few remaining buildings in Canada with this type of facade, its exterior was historically designated in 1990. But the upper floors of the Petrie Building are vacant, and the green paint is there to cover long boarded up windows.

On the corner, the ground level has a store called "Second Fiddle." There are other stores on the ground floor but they are not distinguishable. The building has a mansard roof with dormers along the top floor. The corner also has a dome extending past the roof. Beside the Block is the Regent Hotel. It is a four-storey grey stone building with a steeply-sloped roof at the front and three dormer windows on the fourth floor. There is a small balcony on the second floor above the central doorway.
