TGV Duplex train set no. 4705 from Paris Est passing the S-Bahn station "Laim" at speed.
The "Duplex" variant of the French TGV (Train à Grande Vitesse = high-speed train) features bi-level carriages, is manufactured by Alstom and was introduced to increase capacity on busy TGV lines (such as Paris Est - Munich).
This here is the "Euroduplex" variant which is multi-system capable and has a top speed of 320 km/h (=200 mph for the "imperialists").

At a local restaurant in Seesen, Germany. (And yes, the food was quite good.)
Soon to be surpassed by the Abu Dhabi branch of the museum, also designed by Frank Gehry ( check it out on Google - it's amazing ) but for me this building will always remain one of the most impressive and important architectural achievements of the 20th century. I just love it. It is the reason why I came to Bilbao and I still can't get enough of it ! 😊
With afternoon temperatures of around 40 degrees F, the swing sets were silent on Friday at the Big Fish Lake recreation area near Ortonville, Michigan.

You might not expect to come upon a castle while visiting Spokane, but that is exactly what you will do if you visit the Spokane County courthouse. Most of us associate such architecture with romantic old castles in Europe, or perhaps something out of the world of Walt Disney or fairy tales. To find such a building in the center of a modern, growing regional hub city such as Spokane is a bit startling.
The courthouse is said to closely resemble two famous 16th century chateaux in the Loire Valley of France, the Chateau de Chambord, built in 1519 and the Chateau d'Azay Le Rideau built in 1516. Many architects through the years have commented on the masterly replica of a 16th century French Renaissance design, its fine lines of style and proportion with regard to the towers and turrets, the sculpture, iron and brickwork which excel in pattern and craftsmanship. Detailed exterior trim such as shell patterns with wreaths and festoons and decorative arches are a few of the outstanding features of its design. The beautiful center tower, now lighted at night, is a masterpiece of detail in itself.

The Preto river, which rises at the base of Pico do Cristal, forms the Farofa, Sete Pilões and Aurélio waterfalls, on the Minas side.
The Sete Pilões waterfall is close to the Macieira camp and can be accessed by a 210 m / 689 ft long trail. Along its route, there are several practically circular wells with bluish water, which resemble pylons.
Camping at 1,860 m / 6,102 ft of altitude and that can be reached by 3,3 km / 2,05 miles of roads from the entrance of Pedra Menina (Espírito Santo State), being close to the São Domingos River.

This is one more shot from Lost Lake. It looks a bit surreal. There were two young photographers making time lapse video. From time to time they lightened the lake with red light. I didn't see them as it was very dark, but I saw the red light. Actually I like the effects.
It was one shot: f/2.8, ISO 6400, 25 sec.
We gradually moved towards the main shooting point, about an hour remained until dawn. The fog continued to thicken and in the bitter cold we were completely covered with frost. The full moon shone brightly, turning orange at dawn. All this created excellent conditions for shooting. There was plenty of time and we were not particularly in a hurry, taking pictures of everything. This is one of those shots, nothing special, just a hazy sunrise.
Mom has been gone a few years but she always grew peonys along the side yard. Recently, while in Kentucky they started blooming and this is one of them. I know she would be proud of her flowers!!!
So Mom, this one is for you!!! :-)
Last Tuesday I started a small photo tour in the Eifel. In the valleys there was still a mist, which had to leave the sun more and more. It was similar to the snow that had fallen the night before. During the shooting it cleared up and the sun shone into the romantic Lieser Valley.
Danke für deinen Besuch! Thanks for visiting!

Vaults of the transept raised in the 13th century, the upper nave in the 14th century and in the 15th century the rebuilding of the ribs of the central nave.
It is, altogether, a beautiful example of the Cistercian or early Gothic.
Its fundamental style is that of the transition period from Romanesque-Gothic with Aquitanian-Burgundian influence.
You can be sure that it is one of the most remarkable Cistercian cathedrals.
The vaults show, naked, their kindness; the windows maintain their Romanesque form intact in the lateral naves, and Gothic, in the central one.
