“Le Mur des Canuts” is a gigantic mural depicting ordinary life in the La Croix-Rousse neighborhood of Lyon, France. Hyperrealistic in imagery and packed with intricate details, this massive mural is considered one of the largest displays of public art in Europe.

I wanted to join the Palouse party so bad i dug up this one from last year. I will get one chance to head out there before my upcoming travels to Iceland.

Museum will be established as a permanent institution with an international scope and mission. It is dedicated to the collection, research, preservation and display of works of art, objects and artifacts of artistic, cultural and historical significance from various periods and geographic areas of the Muslim world.

I get a deep sense of inner peace when I see a beautiful bird such as this roseate spoonbill feeding and preening in a glassy surfaced lagoon, bathed in early morning light.

This magnificent carved marble sarcophagus at the entrance to the Rolin Museum in Autun dates from the 2nd-3rd century and comes from Arles. It depicts a famous scene from Greek mythology, the Calydonian boar hunt.
