In terms of total area, the Raurisertal is one of the largest expanses of valley in the Hohe Tauern range. Together with the National Park Region which surrounds the Rauris Valley, we encounter special features and natural treasures that are so rich in variety, we are often said to be a separate world within the Hohe Tauern National Park. The Krumltal is one of the side valleys of the Rauristal and can be reached by a steep path in the beginning. A beautiful scenery with a lot of wildlife. Between water falls, rocks and alpine pastures the Kruml brook brings you directly to the Birds of Prey of the alps. The Krumltal accommodates the most important traditional sleeping places and the best observation possibilities for griffon vultures which come annually during the Hohe Tauern. At the same time it is the only area in the national park where all three kings can be observed regularly. It is one of the most closest settled valley by the golden eagle. In summer times there are between 60- 80 griffon vultures, which spend their summer vacation in the valley of vultures. The kings of the air in the wild nature are very far, but in the valley of Rauris, however, very close. In 1986, the Rauris valley was selected as the site in which to reintroduce the bearded vulture to the Alps this year will see the final release of bearded vultures into the wild, along with smaller animals which have lived in the Hohe Tauern for centuries. Look out for imposing Bearded Vultures or once the snow melts, free-roaming marmots. The Raurisertal is also one of the few Tauern valleys to be a site of continuous settlement.

Feel nature's power here in the Krumltal valley of the National park Hohe Tauern - Austria. Here you'll also walk alongside the roosts of the recently reintroduced Bearded Vultures nestled amid the magnificent Alpine mountains. Here at the top of the Goldberggruppe you can find the beautiful Krumtal waterfall. The melted snow water is tumbling down from the 3000 meter high peaks like Hohe Sonnblick Schareck and Herzog Ernst. Eventually down into the Salzbach river. It is a right tributary of the Inn and is 225 kilometres in length. The Inn is a right tributary of the Danube and is approximately 500km long. The source is located in the Alps.

Listen.

Sorry for another self-portrait upload. I uploaded three today because of yearbook camp is tomorrow until Friday.

Oh and here is my short hair, you can kind of see it.

If you're bored. --

And if you are REALLY bored, read this really long tag.

1. What was the last big change that you did to your hair? Are you often experimental when it comes to those kind of things? Or do you usually just stick to what you know suits you best?

Most often I just stick to the same thing. Up until a couple weeks ago I had the same haircut for years in a row. But then I went a little crazy and cut a lot of it off, as you can see above. I still can't decide if I like it or not, but it is easier. And I don't even remember what I used to look like.

2. Is there anything you are looking forward to doing this summer? If so, what are your plans? Well I just got back from choir tour which was exciting. And tomorrow I have to get up at five to get ready for yearbook camp. (which probably means I should get to bed). Then of course my sister is getting married the same day Harry Potter Part 2 comes out. Regardless of that, I am still seeing it at midnight. Then in August my other sister moves out to college.

3. What type of people do you usually NOT get along with?

I would lie to you and say I get along with all people and I am easy-going, but I will be honest. I don't get along with that many people. Some of the kids at my school were constantly calling me a hater, sigh. I can't help it that I am opinionated and sometimes have difficulty accepting others opinions, trust me it is a constant struggle to keep myself from slapping the people I disagree wit. I guess you could say I don't get along with shallow people, sexists, people who aren't accepting of other people religious views, people who always want a pity party, people who are overly happy, people who compliment you too much, people who say really mean things and don't even realize, and other people (like me) who have really strong opinions and always share theirs. I need calm people to balance me out.

4. Do you have an interest that is uncommon to most people? How many people, if any, do you share this same interest with?

Well as you all know I LOVE music, which itself is very common. But I like music most don't. The only people I know who share that are here on flickr. :D

5. Use this question to talk about something you like. Or anything that is on your mind at the moment. Or vent. Whatever.

I just realized another type of person I could add to my people I don't get along with list ^ up there. People who can't form their own opinions. I mean sure I don't like people who disagree with me, but I also hate people who agree with EVERYTHING I say. People who don't have their opinion on something until you share yours and then it become theirs. I know I say I hate people who are opinionated and disagree with me, but in the end all though I will usually start arguments with those people I really respect people who can fight for their own opinion even if it is different than mine. Hey, at least they believe what they say. (gosh I make no sense. And I just made myself sound like a jerk. Oh well, I guess I kind of am.)

6. Do you have any motto in life? Or any quote/sayings that you believe in or follow?

Not really. My sister and I always joke about the motto "Life sucks, and then you die." but we are just messing around.

7. What is your nationality? Are you proud of your nationality? Do you believe in national or ethnic pride?

I am a bit of everything I think I might be Irish or Scottish. My dads names is Patrick. And I am also part Czech. My moms maiden name is Havlicak. Pronounced Have-ill-check. Haha!

8. What's one stereotype about where you came from that actually applies to you?

I'm American and I spend way to much time inside on the computer or watching tv. :(

9. What do you think is the biggest misconception about the place that you're from?

Utah. I am Mormon/LDS. For some reason the media always jokes about us being polygamist. But we aren't. Back in the 1800's some of the Mormons were but so were people who weren't Mormon. It is against our church to take part in plural marriage and you can't me excommunicated for it. Seriously-- it isn't even a funny joke. And if the media is going to kid around about our religion then they should at least get their facts straight! They don't even know the first part of what we believe!

10. Why do you think people stay in abusive relationships? Have you ever been in one?

Random question. I think because at one point they were in love with the person before they were abusive and the always secretly hope that that person is still there, when sometime they aren't. No I have never been in a relationship, I haven't even been in a relationship.

11. What do you think is your biggest personality flaw? How does this affect your relationship with other people?

Wow personal now. I am really shy, but once I know a person I don't hold back my opinions. And that often makes people think I am mean. But I am also terribly gifted with knowing how to perfectly hurt a person and sometimes when I am angry I can't hold back and use that to say mean things I don't mean. I have may personality flaws, as do all. I hurt my friends feelings a lot, I hope I can get better at that though.

12. What's one movie you're looking forward to seeing right now? If you do not have one, what's the last movie you saw and how did you find it?

The Art of Getting By, One Day, and of course Harry Potter.

13. Do you think you're funny? How would you describe your humor?

Depends on who you ask, and of I would say yes I think I am funny to myself but not to other people. I often makes jokes no one else gets but me so I just amuse myself. Hahaha, I am very sarcastic too. Too sarcastic-- I don't even mean to be anymore.

14. Do you tend to hoard things?

Not that I am aware of. However I am kind of like that little girl in Signs. I leave half-empty cups all over the house and in my bedroom.

15. How good are you at handling money? Do you find it harder to save or spend? How often do you find yourself broke?

I am terrible with money. I spend every bit of money I get on film and candy with my friends. I am broke right now. Let's leave it at that.

Those were random questions and I already know no one read that.

Looking up the International Market Square building stairwell in Minneapolis, Minnesota. This is the largest commercial double helix staircase in the US - built with straight runs and flat landings it intertwines two separate sets of stairs, one for going up and one for going down.

More than you probably want to know:

Although it looks like artwork by M. C. Escher, these unique stairs have a more utilitarian reason for existence - that's what I was told: International Market Square used to be the old Munsingwear underwear factory. George Munsing invented non-scratchy underwear in 1891 which was a miracle for the textile industry but sewing the stuff all day was not a fun job and employee morale became a problem. When George designed his new state-of-the-art factory in 1904 he spared no expense by putting in one set of stairs to accommodate happy people coming to work, and one set of stairs for the exhausted people leaving. With two sets of stairs, different shifts of employees would never run into each other - morale problem solved.

The Munsingwear company was extremely successful and became the largest manufacture and distributor of underwear in the world. Eventually competition caught up and market declines forced Munsingwear to close down the Minneapolis building in 1981. In 1985, the old factory was renovated and the complex was renamed International Market Square, which currently holds offices, shops, showrooms and this cool set of stairs.

Are you white? Are you Caucasian? Are you a god damn cracker? However you want to phrase it, I’m asking if are you of European dissent? I am. This fact alone gives me a huge advantage living in the country I live in. Which also happens to be arguably the most powerful country in the world at the moment. Both in terms of economics, political pull and military agendas.

Why do I bring this up? Well I have found that when I go into poor areas that are primary black, you know the city dwellings where are the white people ran away from years ago, the fight or flight activity in my brain goes wild. I automatically feel out of place and rather fearful. Do I want to feel this way? Of course not.

And yes let me just get this stupid spiel out of the way because you knew it was coming: I don’t consider myself to be “racist” or a bigot or any of those labels that we associate with someone who is a close minded ignorant asshole. I’m not going to tell you how many “black” friends I have because I’m not trying to prove something to you (can you get any more lame by the way? I just want to punch white people in the face when they say that trying to prove their un-racist worth). But here I am admitting that my brain tells me to get scared when I go in to what people commonly refer to as the “ghetto”.

But I’m here to also tell you that I have a happy little moral to this story. I have found that when I am actually able to push these negative thoughts to the side, I wind up much happier.

Case in point? This picture. When I see the people in these areas while I take these pictures (at night) without acting like a scared little white boy, they tend to warm up to me. The more I unquestionably treat everyone there with the kind of respect of a human being that I would expect to be treated, the more accepted I seem to be in return.

But most prominently, the less fearful I genuinely am, the less hostile they are to me. The key word here being “genuinely”. Because you can’t fake this shit. You have to actually mean it. This isn’t a fucking Hollywood movie, it’s the real deal. The opposite of love is fear, not hate. No truer words have ever been said.

And if you think about this whole concept, it makes perfect sense. Think about you pimp photo viewer whoever you are. Think about if someone came to you and was a scared little pussy coming with all kinds of preconceived notions of who you are and completely judging you right off the bat before they even spoke a word to you. Would you dislike them? Would you automatically want to fuck with them? Possibly to just get them the fuck out of your face? Who wants to be around someone like that anyhow? Not me.

The shot at hand? One of the most notoriously “bad” locations of the entire bay area, West Oakland. There were parties, music blaring, people hanging out, and there you had Mr. Photo Man taking pictures because I LOVED this street corner. Something about that old restored car under that street lamp with that mural made for an awesome shot. Fedora included.

The Woodlands is a census-designated place (CDP) and large master-planned community of Montgomery County in the U.S. state of Texas within the Houston–Sugar Land–Baytown metropolitan area. The population was 55,649 at the 2000 census, 90.5% increase over 1990 population. As of 2006, the estimated population had reached approximately 84,418. Much of the development is located in the city of Houston's extraterritorial jurisdiction (ETJ), but small portions of The Woodlands extends into the ETJ of Shenandoah and Conroe. Plans for annexation of both the Houston and Conroe portions were once in discussion, but regional agreements have been set in place to allow The Woodlands to incorporate itself.

The Woodlands is located 28 miles north of Downtown Houston along Interstate 45. Though it began as a suburban development and a bedroom community, it also has attracted corporations to the area. As a result, the area features several corporate campuses, most notably Chevron Phillips, Anadarko Petroleum Corporation, Baker Hughes, CB&I, and Hewitt Associates. The development won a Special Award for Excellence in 1994 from the Urban Land Institute.

In addition to residential and corporate housing, The Woodlands features a shopping mall, seven golf courses and The Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion, a regional concert venue, and the 4 star rated The Woodlands Resort. Over the past decade, The Woodlands has seen tremendous growth in terms of commercial/office space in Town Center. Many high-rise office and residential buildings have recently been built. Just completed is 24 Waterway Avenue, a 13 story class A office/retail building.

Ultra Music Festival 2011

Hello Everyone,

Here's another one from Ultra Music Festival 2011. This photo was taken on stage during David Guetta's performance. You can actually see the turntables behind them.

David Guetta also performed with Will I Am, Flo Rida, and AfroJack. To see Guetta wind a room into frenzy is something special. Technically David is one of the most impressive DJs in the house scene. Almost remixing records live, he makes loops, slams tracks together that you’d never think would go and uses vocals over other instrumentals. His sets are so dynamic that at times it’s difficult to see how he can keep the energy up. To put it simply, Guetta creates moments.

“Everything I’m trying to do – in my DJing, my production – is about sharing emotion. When I’m making music in the studio that’s all I’m looking for. It’s what matters the most.!” - David Guetta

One night a man had a dream. He dreamed he was walking along the beach with the LORD.

Across the sky flashed scenes from his life. For each scene he noticed two sets of footprints in the sand: one belonging to him, and the other to the LORD.

When the last scene of his life flashed before him,he looked back at the footprints in the sand.He noticed that many times along the path of his life there was only one set of footprints. He also noticed that it happened at the very lowest and saddest times in his life. This really bothered him and he questioned the LORD about it:

"LORD, you said that once I decided to follow you, you'd walk with me all the way. But I have noticed that during the most troublesome times in my life, there is only one set of footprints.

I don't understand why when I needed you most you would leave me."

The LORD replied:

"My son, my precious child, I love you and I would never leave you.During your times of trial and suffering, when you see only one set of footprints, it was then that I carried you."

Regno Unito, Londra, Tower Bridge, Primavera 2011

The Tower Bridge, symbol of London, was built in Gothic Victorian style in 1886 on a project of Wolfe Barry and Horace Jones, and was completed in 1894.

Tower Bridge is composed of two moving parts. During the passage of large ships, in less than a minute, these parts are raised completely with an electronic system that in 1976 replaced the old hydraulic system.

Once the moving parts were opened up to 5 times a day, but today are hardly opened because the ships dock is in a completely different area, further downstream

Two famous towers, 25 m tall, stand on the Tower Bridge. These towers characterize the bridge in photos and postcards and inside host some exhibits and a museum: The Tower Bridge Exhibition.

This was the day when I understood the real meaning of the words "calm before storm". Storm clouds in the sky add drama to the calm and serene beach atmosphere. Later in the day, it created havoc by raining all day, all night.

This is a picture from the very popular "Boracay Islands" of Philippines. If you are looking for a beach destination, look no further than Philippines, which according to me has the most spectacular beaches, really beautiful & friendly people and at the end of the trip you won't find a hole in your pocket as well.

About Boracay, Philippines

Boracay is an island of the Philippines located approximately 315 km (200 miles) south of Manila and 2 km off the northwest tip of Panay Island in the Western Visayas region of the Philippines. In 1990, it was voted by the BMW Tropical Beach Handbook as one of the best beaches in the world and again in 1996 by British publication TV Quick as the world's number one tropical beach.

About Philippines

The Philippines, officially known as the Republic of the Philippines (Filipino: Republika ng Pilipinas), is a country in Southeast Asia in the western Pacific Ocean. To its north across the Luzon Strait lies Taiwan. West across the South China Sea sits Vietnam. The Sulu Sea to the southwest lies between the country and the island of Borneo, and to the south the Celebes Sea separates it from other islands of Indonesia. It is bounded on the east by the Philippine Sea. Its location on the Pacific Ring of Fire and its tropical climate make the Philippines prone to earthquakes and typhoons but have also endowed the country with natural resources and made it one of the richest areas of biodiversity in the world. An archipelago comprising 7,107 islands, the Philippines is categorized broadly into three main geographical divisions: Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao. Its capital city is Manila.

Still in a nautical mood!! Having so much fun with family! Sorry I haven't been around but I'll be popping back in from time to time later this afternoon to catch up a bit! I hope everyone is having a wonderful Monday ... we are in the midst of a heat wave. Last time Rachel was here was in the midst of one of the worst snow storms ever! What luck, huh?

Happy Monday!!

Creator of the photographs in our Wynne Album, advertising his photographic studio on Main Street in Castlebar, Co. Mayo.

You know how we love to hear from relatives! Well, we were delighted when some of Thomas’ descendants got in touch. Read the comments below to see how they're like an informal Wynne family postbox.

Mike Hannon is Thomas Wynne’s great-great-grandson. Mike very kindly shared information and early photos of the Wynne family with us. He told us how Thomas’ daughter Mary (Mike’s great-grandmother), set up her own studio in Loughrea, Galway in the 1890s. Thomas Wynne’s other sons did likewise in Limerick, Tipperary, and Portarlington.

We were sorry to hear that Wynne’s of Castlebar closed in 2011.

Mungo fever is on again...

Just over 4000 years ago the building of the great pyramids of Egypt began. The last time Willandra Creek water ran this channel into Lake Mungo was not twice as long ago as that, but probably 4 times as long ago!

Aboriginals were fishing and camping here 12 times as long ago as when the pyramids were being built.

The last 50000 years have been a period of many changes.

The oldes recorded cremation in the world has been found here, at Lake Mungo. It’s still called lake Mungo but these lakes dried 18000 years ago. This site was added to the World Heritage list in 1981 in recognition of its Aboriginal heritage and the evidence of past climates preserved in its landscape.

Rain and wind has uncovered ancient fireplaces and hearths, as well as calcified plant matter, artefacts, stone tools and animal bones. At the 33 kilometre long crescent of the Walls of China, erosion has sculpted the sand and clay into dramatic formations.

Enjoy

(Fake moon...it's obvious I think)

What do you think? Want to see it without moon, smaller moon, bigger moon? I know that some will like it and some not....can't please evryone. Thanks anyway

Memorial Hall is an imposing brick building in High Victorian Gothic style, located on the Harvard University campus. It is now a National Historic Landmark.

In The Bostonians, Henry James described it thus: "The Memorial Hall of Harvard consists of three main divisions: one of them a theater, for academic ceremonies; another a vast refectory, covered with a timbered roof, hung about with portraits and lighted by stained windows, like the halls of the colleges of Oxford; and the third, the most interesting, a chamber high, dim and severe, consecrated to the sons of the university who fell in the long Civil War." - wiki

What else can I say, I LOVE BOSTON. :) Happy Week Everyone! :)

The clerk at Wal-Mart looked at me funny as I checked out with nail polish and a mirror. She said "aren't you the guy who usually buys all those Tic Tacs and Dots?" I told her I was but that I was going in a different direction with today's photo. Toni wouldn't let me use her nail polish so I had to buy my own. My daughter liked the colors so much I gave them to her after the photo shoot. Besides, these colors don't look good on me.

Looking out from the Guthrie Theater's 'Yellow Room' in downtown Minneapolis, Minnesota.

On the 9th floor of the Guthrie Theater is this very cool cantilevered observation box made of amber/yellow colored glass windows and floor - it looks north over the Mississippi and has awesome views of the the riverfront district: Stone Arch Bridge, St. Anthony Falls, Mill City Museum, Gold Medal & Pillsbury Parks, Nicollet Island and the St. Anthony Main area.

I know this kind of looks like a manipulation but it's a real yellow room, a real view and a real model - thanks Telly! Check out the Guthrie 'Yellow Room' space on YouTube.

This is another Sunrise which I shoot form Vhorob Bazar, This sunrise has a shadow from sky[a cloud patch) Which is very rear on the river unless the the water body of such a dynamic river s quite for while, and such surreal moments exist for a few second, and this depends of the wind blowing and the wave of the water body, unless the wind support and the cloud patch is resting for a while such surrealistic image is impossible, I was Lucky to enjoy such a view over the mighty river Meghna at Vhoirob Bazar Point, and I was Little composed to upload this, If you have Noticed form my Stream , all my Land scape , sunset, sunrises are presented with a Surreal Background, I normally do not shoot Land scape, sunset or a sunrise if there is no beautiful Back ground,

Here in this Image, I was very much interested for the foreground, b coz of the sunrise and its effect on the human nature and Birds around with the rear moment of sky with it cloud patch giving up a shadow on the water body has greatly motivated me to click , but unfortunately my lens did not allow me to capture both the back ground and foreground for this shot ,

while the Voirob bazar railway bridge was a standing back ground for all my shot for this spot which is missing from this shot, But those elements form Foreground and shadow form the cloud patch has made some impact on my mind and sacrifice my routine practices of shooting a sunrise with a surrealistic background . May be for this this is one of my exceptional shot . And my Last Upload form my Collection of Vhoirob Bazar Sudden Photo walk with Frame BANGLADESH .
