Life is for those who are smart. Those who can pretend, those who can smile, and even smile at people they do not like. Life is for those who want something, those who have other goals than just to die. Life is a game, and I have no plans to play with.
I haven't been feeling so good with photography as I would like. I don't have a lack of inspiration, just that its bad weather, no colors nothing here now.
I have felt really desperate and taking this shot was a big relief for me.. I hope people don't find the watermark so distracting, I'm still trying to find a good way to watermark my photos.
Check out the Before & After
The TID Tower is an under-construction high-rise in Tirana, Albania. The building is expected to be 85 metres (279 ft) tall. It consists of 25 floors. The design comes from Belgian architectural firm 51N4E, and construction started on 14 January 2007.
The TID tower is part of the ambitious new master plan for the city, which want to make around ten iconographic towers. The main program of the tower consists housing program. Offices, shopping and restaurant facilities are located in the base. At the top of the building a panorama restaurant. The tower appear to be constructed from individual plates of clear and sand coloured glaze which are placed at different angles adding to the towers look and giving it texture, although its more likely the tower is fully glazed and the coloured panels are laid over the top and form balconies and such but it all adds to the illusionary qualities of the towers appearance. During early stages of the development last year, builders were presented with a unique real estate construction dilemma. The development is almost on top of the Suleman Pasha Tomb. A circular 3D cut-out at the base of the building ensures the two exist in harmony.

"M.E. (Interviewer Mark Evans): What about Tirana, your capital city? What is it like?
F.T. (Fatos Tarifa; Albanian ambassador to the USA): Tirana is the most dynamic city in the Balkans today. Twelve years ago, when I left, Tirana had a population of 250 thousands people. Today the city has one million inhabitants. (...) Tirana may be characterised as a city in construction, or as a gigantic construction site. There are new buildings everywhere. Tirana is a booming city."
F. Tarifa, To Albania; with love, 2007, Lanham, p. 78
Common areas between apartment buildings were brought back to normality after decades of neglect, while existing parks, city squares, and sports recreational areas were renovated giving Tirana a more European look. However, some green areas are being used for the construction of skyscrapers. Rama has been accused by critics of corruption while issuing building permits, but he has dismissed the claims as baseless. Decreasing urban space and traffic congestion have become major problems as a general construction chaos is observed in Tirana.
Although much has been achieved, critics argue that there lacks a clear vision on Tirana's future. Loss of public space due to illegal and chaotic construction, unpaved roads in suburban areas, degradation of Tirana's Artificial Lake, rehabilitation of Skanderbeg Square, ever present smog, the construction of a central bus station, and public parking lots are some pressing issues still remaining to be solved. Some proposed future plans include the continuation of illegal buildings' legalization process, construction of the southwestern portion of the Big Ring Road, a tram system, and the rehabilitation of the Tirana Train Station area.

Well, insomnia has struck again!
So here I am, up, unable to sleep, in the small hours, as I like to call them, doodling away in Photoshop, and, actually, really liking the results!
It seems my brain goes off on unexpected tangents when I am overtired and halfway between dream and reality!
This image is most certainly open to interpretation!
I was originally going to title it "Surfing with the Alien", after a classic Joe Satriani song, but that didn't really seem to fit, cool as it was.
I would love to know what you guys all make of this, or any cool things or shapes you see in it!
The small fishing village of Arnarstapi in Iceland. There certainly are iconic and picturesque places on earth. I'm very happy to be able to enjoy a lot of such magnificence quite often - as well as some bad weather too, for the sake of appreciating the good (let's say that).
Behind that mountain there's a volcano that can't be seen on my shot due to the haze. It would be Snæfellsnes. In Jules Verne's "A Journey to the Centre of the Earth", the Snæfellsnes crater is the entrance from where the adventurers descend into the bowels of the earth.

Taken out of the archives. A maternity shoot for my friend back in the fall. I had all these shots tha probably would have never seen the day of night again since the last time I had given them the photos.
Love is in the air, so I'd thought it'll be nice to look back at an example of true love from someone very close to me :) Happy Valentine's Day!
PS: Their 'soon to be' is now a 4month old little precious named Reet :D

Mont Blanc (French) or Monte Bianco (Italian), meaning "White Mountain", is the highest mountain in the Alps, Western Europe and the European Union. It rises 4,810.45 m (15,782 ft)[2] above sea level and is ranked 11th in the world in topographic prominence. It is also sometimes known as La Dame blanche (French for "the White Lady") or Il Bianco (Italian for "the White One").
The mountain lies between the regions of Aosta Valley, Italy, and Haute-Savoie, France and the location of the summit is on the watershed line between the valleys of Ferret and Veny in Italy and the Arve Valley in France.
The two most famous towns near Mont Blanc are Courmayeur in Aosta Valley, Italy, and Chamonix in Haute-Savoie, France—the site of the first Winter Olympics. A cable car ascends and crosses the mountain from Courmayeur to Chamonix.
Begun in 1957 and completed in 1965, the 11.6 km (7¼ mi) Mont Blanc Tunnel runs beneath the mountain between these two countries and is one of the major trans-Alpine transport routes.
The Mont Blanc massif is popular for mountaineering, hiking, skiing and snowboarding.
The summit of Mont Blanc is a thick, perennial ice and snow dome whose thickness varies, so no exact and permanent summit elevation can be determined. But accurate measurements have been made. For a long time its official elevation was 4,807 m (15,771 ft). Then in 2002, the IGN and expert surveyors, with the aid of GPS technology, measured it to be 4,810.40 m (15,782 ft 2 in).

Courmayeur is an Italian town and comune in the autonomous region of Aosta Valley, in northern Italy. It is located at the foot of Mont Blanc, the highest mountain in western Europe, in the Graian Alps range, and is crossed by the Dora Baltea. Courmayeur shares the summit of Mont Blanc with its neighboring commune of Chamonix in France, and owns the title of highest commune in Italy.

This is probably the weirdest fence I've ever posted! First I had a snowstorm fence, then I had a picnic in the park fence, then I had a beach fence. But as I was looking through my archives, I came across a 'heart' fence. This being the month of love and all, I immediately yanked it from the archives and dusted it off (I know, it looks like a missed a few spots)!
Seriously folks; this looks NOTHING like the original! I took a beautiful, pristine digital image and systematically destroyed it. And it was so much fun! I really shouldn't be doing this, I have SO MUCH to do before I start my road trip next week. Been up since 3:00 am getting Jack off on her flight to San Diego. So what I'm really doing right now is procrastinating. And when I procrastinate, you can usually find me in Photoshop ... or on Flickr! I decided to 'do something different.' I ran the image through a plugin called Retrographer. It does a whole bunch of fun neat retro camera effects!! I like how this looks like a rumpled Valentine's Day card found in a musty box in the basement.
Happy Fence Friday Everyone!!

Brand spanking new, and a snip at £360 - this is the Vulcan Demonstration Van. Its chassis could take 20-25 cwt., and it was distributed by B.T. Lambert Ltd., 3 Cornmarket, Dublin.
From examining shots of the van from other angles, what we thought was the reg. no. seemed to be 0010 YI (definitely YI, but 0010 didn't sound right). Thanks to Bob Montgomery 2012 who explained that it was a trade plate rather than a registration plate...
I've transcribed the full text from the carving over the door of Reginald's Tower behind the van below...

This is the more traditional view of Saint Louis Cathedral. It was rainy off and on all day and I thought the clouds rolling in were cool. It kept this from being TOO much of a generic post card shot.
Tante donne.

View on black please!
While on a photowalk around Westminster with Siany, we walk around the back of Westminster Abbey and she found this little entrance. We wandered in and found this fantastic little cloister and many other churchy-type things. We also found the oldest door in England, dating back to around 1050.
The interior of this, I believe it's called a chapter house, is modelled on the Sainte-Chapelle in Paris. I loved the sense of perspective that this corridor gave, plus the wonderful ceiling and the bright sunlight shining in through the cloister windows.
This looks much more lovely large on black. I've also just realised that my Flickr stream has just passed over a million views, so thank you everyone who as visited and continues to visit my photos!

So decided to take a trip to the QE2 Bridge (Or Dartford Crossing to some of you) and had an absoloutly fantastic evening shooting this incredibly photogenic bridge! The bridge is situated in Dartford and crosses the Thames to Lakeside/Thurrock. It is named after Queen Elizabeth II and is rarely photographed. The tide was out when this picture was taken but the mud in the foreground is where you do not want to be standing.
This bridge is practically starburst heaven so if you love them you should love this :P
I have lit the foreground with a torch to bring out those little glossy reflections in the pebbles.
Should definaetly be visiting this place again and cannot wait to do so!
Feel free to comment or fave - they will always be returned.

A night view of Barcelona. A shot made with 4 different exposures in RAW I blended together in Photoshop.
One long exposure for the moving clouds, one very short exposure for the city lights, one very long exposure for the grass in the foreground and another one for the sky.
The city is getting asleep while the clouds in movement are looking like giant sheets protecting Barcelona people.
