Automne
Avec dans sa valise, de belles couleurs
L’automne s’installe avec douceur
C’est la période ou tout change
Sous le regard des Anges
J’Aime beaucoup cette saison
Où je quitte ma maison
Pour parcourir la nature
Et découvrir ces couleurs si matures
C’est aussi les grillades de châtaignes
Qui font disparaître nos migraines
Le cidre très doux
Si pétillant qui peut rendre jaloux
Ne soyons pas monotone
Parce qu’ arrive l’ Automne …….

Fall
With his suitcase, beautiful colors
Autumn settles gently
This is the period or changes
Under the gaze of angels
I love this season
As I leave my house
To browse the nature
And find these colors if mature
It also grilled chestnuts
That remove our headaches
Very sweet cider
If sparkling that can be jealous ...

In my striving to catch the colour here the mountains ended up a solid mass of black, so I've done my best with Photoshop 7.0 to bring (subtly) some of the lines back between the rugged ridges on the left hand side of the picture. Not sure it has been entirely successful, but the thought was there.

Brought my 1500 D700 shots of 16 days Cote d'Opale back to one thousand... plenty of missed oportunities, wrong settings, blown out skies, dirty lenses, waterdrops on the lens etc, etc. Duh!
About this shot
Tricky stuff walking along the French cliffs at sunset, you really need a tides table to avoid getting in trouble. 5 meters of water level difference, from smashing waves against the cliffs to an empty space of almost one kilometer, with a couple of surprises in between.
Not easy planning a sunset shoot. This is at a distance of over half an hour to the next beach/cliff stairs, no (smart)phone range here, not another soul in sight - and the water is too far away! Bugger!
I found out I *really* need to get my set-up of ND hard and soft grads!

Spending one morning at Passo Rolle during sunrise, I went around looking for new compositions. I did quite some experiments, but a picture that I like a lot is this one.
In the background, you can see the high plateau Pale die San Martino, between 2.500 and 2.700 meters (around 1.6 miles), where we spent a four day hike. A very rough, moonlike landscape. The two peaks you can see are La Rosetta and Pala di San Martino, and both in very nice morning picture (about 20 minutes after sunrise)
What caught my eye was, of course, how the flowers mirror the shape of La Rosetta. So, I only had to bring it together in a direct relation, compositionally wise, and then I tried different depth of fields with my Sigma 70-200 (at 200 mm) that would hint at the mountains without blurring them too much, but at the same time keeping the obvious focus on the foreground.

Zumaia (Spanish: Zumaya) is a small town in the north of Spain in the Basque Country.
The town has two beaches (Itzurun and Santiago), which are of interest to geologists because they are situated among the longest set of continuous rock strata in the world. Known locally as the "flysch" they date from the mid-cretaceous period to the present, a time period of over 100 million years. The K-T boundary is present at the Itzurun beach, and fossils can be found, notably of ammonites. The strata stretches along a distance of about 8 km, between the towns/beaches of Deba and Getaria, with Zumaia lying in the middle. en.Wikipedia
My photos, see also in my comment, were taken at the beach of Itzurun ... I was impressed by the rock formations and sunset atmosphere.

English:
This time I would like to dedicate this picture to my friend Gema, that has been a breast recently. Your daughter Leire and she. I recommend to you to visit her gallery and to greet her.
Albarracín possesses a historical medieval hull of great beauty, fruit of your extensive history and of your importance as frontier villa, but in addition the whole population, nowadays, still preserves the double wall that was protecting it, as well as the Castle and the towers of the Walker and of dona Blanca.
Before possessing these walls, it had a castle to whose feet the locality began to grow, which led to constructing the walls from the 10th century, being extended in the later century. In fact, these are those who can be observed, though partially re-done in later epochs.
The reason in order that these walls have remained so well along the history, owes to that after the Christian reconquest, the city happened to form a part of the Kingdom of Aragon, and later in the 14th century to the Wreath of Aragon, turning this way into frontier zone with Castile, which the amurallamiento was forcing to support in good conditions.
Actually, Albarracín's defensive system, three fortresses were composing it: the Principal castle, that of the Walker and Dona Blanca's Tower, to that two enclosures closed by the walls were adding. The enclosure walled of minor size would correspond with the Moslem poblamiento, whereas the second walled enclosure is later, including in your interior report of the mount of the locality.
Check it out on black or at 1280 x 850 pixel if you like architecture, lots of glass, concrete and artificial light. :)
About this shot
Scoop nr 1 This is 'The Scoop' next to the modern London City Hall, a great place for photography - If they would let ya. I can't complain though.
Scoop nr 2 Always keep an eye on your shadow when you're out and about, or else you might be ruining your own shots. *cough* Yep! :-)
Scoop nr 3 Don't be afraid to go out on a walk with another photographer thinking "you might end up getting the same shots!" This is not a problem at all. Evidence: This is Scott's shot of me taking the shot above. And this one. Y'see? It's another world, so no problem at all, unless you keep shooting over each others shoulders all the time of course. But then, there's always post-processing. ;-)
Have a nice day!

Haha, this one just makes me smile... I don't think his tongue could be any longer :) We were in the middle of a long walk Barney, Dilly and I went on a few days before I left for France. I only meant to have a short walk, on one of the smaller hills in the background of this pic but wonderful weather meant I was reluctant to go home. We ended up staying out hours longer than I'd planned, eventually walking (or in Barney's case, loping) up to the highest point of the Malverns (not that high - around 1,300ft). I love walking on the hills of course, but even seeing them from a distance makes me happy... They're the first thing I look for when coming home: from miles away you can spot them rising in an orderly line out of the flood plains of Worcestershire, it's a nice sight when you've been away for awhile :)
Barney was ecstatically happy to see me (the feeling was mutual!) when I arrived this afternoon. He was already bounding down the hall as I turned the key and opened the front door. I had to stand outside for 10 minutes while he just leaped up and down, tripping on my suitcase, crashing into my legs, throwing himself on the floor in a wriggling heap and just as I reached down to pat him, leaping up again, to lick my face! When I finally got inside he pounced on his kong, proudly prancing back to show me, shaking his head ferociously and doing a funny little dance with his front paws. Finally, he led the way back to the garden, tail curled jauntily over his back and a cheeky grin on his face that was an invitation (or perhaps demand is the right term) for play :) I couldn't resist...
It's lovely having such a fantastic welcome home but I'm glad I've got no plans to for a long holiday or visit with relatives soon - I hate saying goodbye to him - especially as he knows what a suitcase is. Whenever I bring the case downstairs, he immediately goes into sulk mode (he has bitter experience with me bringing my case down and then leaving for university for 3 months). Unless I'm gathering his bowls, leads, toys etc he will go very quiet and subdued. I call him and he won't come, he just stares at the suitcase, then at me and stays where he is, head on his paws. It is a truly pitiful sight and one that breaks my heart (even though I know, after a day of sulking he's back to his happy self!!) Yes, I had a lovely time but I'm glad to be back and I think Barney's pretty pleased too :)

Nome comune: Ibisco.
Genere: Hibiscus.
Famiglia: Malvaceae.
Descrizione genere: comprende circa 250-300 specie di arbusti, piccoli alberi o piante erbacee, perenni o annuali, rustici o delicati, sempreverdi o a foglie decidue.
Here is a shot of the Eiffel Tower from the fountains in front of Place du Trocadero - Paris, France. For those of you that have visited Paris pre-2000, the Eiffel Tower played host to Paris' Millennium Celebration. On this occasion, flashing lights and four high-power searchlights were installed on the tower. Since then, the light show has become a nightly event. The searchlights on top of the tower make it a beacon in Paris' night sky, and the 20,000 flash bulbs give the tower a sparkly appearance every hour on the hour.

Qui par delà, les monts m’emmène

The morning mist dance
In the largest of silence
Betraying
This landscape, which is born
For this new day
My eyes filled with wonder
Faced with such gentleness
Where awake colors
I remember this scene

Where everything is magic

"All you need is faith and trust... and a little bit of pixie dust!"
That quote perfectly describes my feelings about my first workshop yesterday. I was beyond excited to meet my group and see what everyone had to offer, and I was nervous too...that I would suddenly forget how to create an image! So I thought it only appropriate to do a Peter Pan picture :-)
It was an absolutely wonderful day from start to finish. I think that we all learned something, and we definitely all had a laugh at some of my odd techniques both in shooting and editing!! :-P I am bursting with excitement for the next one now!

The Königssee is a lake located in the extreme southeast of the German state of Bavaria, near the border with Austria. It's all part of the Berchtesgaden National Park. Located at a Jurassic rift it was formed by glaciers during the last ice age. It stretches about 7.7 km. The lake similar to a fjord is surrounded by steeply rising flanks of mountains up to 2700 m. The lake is noted for its clear water and is advertised as the cleanest lake in Germany. For this reason, only electric driven passenger ships, rowing and pedal boats have been permitted on the lake since 1909. Due to its picturesque setting, the lake and surrounding parklands are very popular with tourists and hikers. In addition, the lake's position surrounded by sheer rock walls creates an echo, which is known for its clarity. St. Bartholomä, a famous pilgrimage church with a small inn nearby, is located on a peninsula about halfway down the western lakeshore. It named for Saint Bartholomew the Apostle Bartholomäus in German. A first chapel at the lake was built in 1134 from 1697 onwards it has been rebuilt in a Baroque style with a floor plan modelled on Salzburg Cathedral, two onion domes and a red domed roof. St. Bartholomä and the southern edge can only be reached by boat or via hiking trails up the surrounding mountains.
A bird's eye view of St. Bartholomä next to the Konigssee in the county of Berchtesgaden - Germany. You can see three electric boats. Photo taken from the Jenner mountain top at the height of 1,870 meters where the beauty of the Berchtesgaden valley and Königssee can be viewed. The lake is noted for its clear water and is advertised as the cleanest lake in Germany. For this reason, only electric driven passenger ships, rowing and pedal boats have been permitted on the lake since 1909.
