A shot of Idaho's Mt. Heyburn above Little Redfish Lake in the wee hours before dawn. Amazing what our cameras can pull out of the dark.
A few other daylight shots of this iconic peak in comments.
Enjoy this last day of June! Hard to believe 2016 is half over!
Image taken in an area called La Petite Venise in Colmar France. Mostly known for it's beautiful flowers along the river during the spring and summer months, I actually prefer the winter solitude without the crowds. :-)
Some impressive clouds over the Talkeetna mountains as seen from Hatcher Pass. If/when in the Palmer, Wasilla or Willow area I highly recommended this drive.
Shown in technicolor in comments.

So I trod the sands towards Malimbu, climbed over huge volcanic rocks, and slithered over sea-weed covered water ledges coming out on one of my favorite places on western Lombok: Setangi and its beach.
Would it still be there I worried in anticipation? Yes it was and in relatively good repair too: the bale I claim for myself when I'm here (www.flickr.com/photos/87453322@N00/12608035904/in/photoli...). Bale in standard Bahasa but in the parlance of NTB (Nusa Tenggara Barat), the province of Lombok and Sumbawa: beruga. No matter what, it's a nice sun shelter and a place to put my little rucksack as I forage about.
My eye fell on pretty Wedelia trilobata, Creeping Daisy, and it's Emerald Visitor, Ceratina smaragdula.
PS My internet connection here - as always - is quite bad and slow; so please excuse my tardiness in comments.

Museum will be established as a permanent institution with an international scope and mission. It is dedicated to the collection, research, preservation and display of works of art, objects and artifacts of artistic, cultural and historical significance from various periods and geographic areas of the Muslim world.
A quiet morning on the banks of the Potomac made finding this little gem of a spot totally worth it. A rising sun tucked itself behind some early morning clouds just long enough for me to snag this beauty.
Sitting on this small beach, it was easy to forget the hustle and bustle of the DC metro area; no sounds of traffic, no airplanes or helicopters skipping over head, just the sound of the river and the breeze - pure serenity.

At home it is raining and I am sitting next to the oven. 9°C today, what a summer mid of August. The nice thing as a photographer is the ability to capture beautiful moments in life and adapt them to what the feeling needs. This result is exactly my dreamscape I need in this moment...makes me feel good...

This charming cypress grove in the midst of grain fields is situated just outside of San Quirico on the road to Montalcino. Another photographic and accordingly frequented icon of Val d'Orcia.

For more than a century, beginning in 1855, the North Point Lighthouse stood tall, overlooking the water and beaming out its light to protect and guide ships and watercraft. Keepers and their families lived and worked at the North Point Light Station, ensuring that the bright light was broadcast through fair weather and foul. It symbolizes a time in our history when waterways were the highways between cities. Lighthouses facilitated water travel and commerce on Lake Michigan, throughout the Great Lakes and beyond.
It has recently been restored to its early 20th century charm through the determined efforts of a group of committed volunteers.

Alzai la testa. Il mare aperto era sbarrato da un banco di nubi nere, e il quieto corso d’acqua che portava ai confini estremi della terra scorreva cupo sotto un cielo offuscato – pareva condurre nel cuore di una tenebra immensa.

Temple Concord's roots reach back over one hundred years to the first Jewish organization in this area. The original Jewish settlers in Binghamton organized the Hebrew Benevolent Society, founded in 1862. Subsequently, they created a number of Jewish organizations and religious societies. Temple Concord was incorporated in November, 1950, and in February 1951 regular services were instituted in the Kilmer Mansion. The historic mansion now houses our Hebrew and Judaic schools as well as a library.
