Exploring the sand dunes along the shores of Lake Michigan in Michigan City, Indiana. The sunset was a bust, but a day at the beach still beats a day pretty much anywhere else.

This building with the Florentine loggia is the former palais urbain built for Ignaz Graf von Törring-Jettenbach and also a former post office.
Originally built 1747 to 1754 in Rococo style for the above mentioned count Törring-Jettenbach, it was modified many times.
1835 to 1838 the Florentine loggia was added while at about the same time the building was made the main post office.
Mostly destroyed in World War II, the interior was not reconstructed. After the post office moved out in 2009 all not listed parts of the building were demolished, only the loggia with its arcades remained. Now there is upscale shopping and a café.

Wide view of the courtyard of Schloss Blutenburg with the gothic palace chapel. The chapel was built in 1488, replacing a fortified tower at that location. The small ridge turret is baroque and was added in 1676.
Schloss Blutenburg (Blutenburg Castle) was first mentioned in 1432 though it's origins reach back to a moated castle from the 13th century.
In the years 1438–39 Duke Albert III, Duke of Bavaria rebuild the castle as a hunting-lodge.
Nowadays it houses the International Youth Library (Internationale Jugendbibliothek) and the library of the Michael Ende Museum.

Hummingbird hawk-moth, Krakau, Poland
I never saw this before and it was difficult to take a picture
The hummingbird hawk-moth is distributed throughout the northern Old World from Portugal to Japan, but is resident only in warmer climates (southern Europe, North Africa, and points east). It is a strong flier, dispersing widely and can be found virtually anywhere in the hemisphere in the summer. However it rarely survives the winter in northern latitudes (e.g. north of the Alps in Europe, north of the Caucasus in Russia). They have been spotted in Newfoundland, Canada and Malaysia[1] as well.
Moths in the Hemaris genus of the family Sphingidae are known as "hummingbird moths" in the US, and "bee moths" in Europe, which sometimes causes confusion between this species and the North American genus.

Bellagio is a comune (municipality) in the Province of Como in the Italian region of Lombardy. It is located on Lake Como, also known by its Latin-derived name, the Lake of Lario. The arms of the lake form an inverted Y. The triangular land mass at the base of the inverted Y is the Larian Triangle. The Como arm of the lake lies to its south west, the Lecco arm of the lake to its south east. At the northern point of the triangle sits Bellagio, looking across to the northern arm of the lake and, behind it, the Alps. It has always been famous for its location.

Still shocked about the Nice horror...
Somehow life goes on
but when it's said and done
it's such a bitter pill
when you think the battle's won
you hear the distant guns
of all those fighting still
the battle's in our heads
one we alway lose
whichever side we choose
we can paint the planet red
or black and blue instead
but we are one world.

I don't often use a DX lens with my full-frame camera but I wanted the reach that my Nikon 200mm DX gave me to get this tree, situated well into Loch Eck, nicely framed..
.
I've kayaked out to this tree a few times and got out ... standing in the middle of the loch is a weird experience :)
