A photo from the 1985 holiday season. In my hotel room mirror putting the finishing touches on my makeup. Just after this I would muster all my courage and leave my room to the elevator for the lobby. There would be a holiday singles mixer in the cocktail lounge of the lobby I would be attending. The elevator door opens on the lobby level. There are people milling about all over. No time to back out now! I exit the elevator and hear my high heels clicking on the shiny marble lobby floor. I walk across the lobby to the lounge area, no one paying much attention to me. I take a peek into the cocktail lounge and it's already bustling ! I take a deep breath and enter in feeling exhilarated ! I get a few smiles and looks and head towards the bar area. I can't believe I am actually doing this! Wish me luck........bye, toodles............

I don't usually take photos when I get on a plane, probably because I'm so used to it I just can't think of any way to make the photos look different from all the hundreds of photos there already are out there, but I when I get off the plane I always feel like I've wasted a great opportunity. This time I decided it was going to be different, I didn't know what, but I was going to take a photo that at least looked decent, and hopefully I've achieved that. A few days later, back home, I placed my hand on my bedroom window and took a photo of my hand.
