I was driving down one of the many back roads of Muscatatuck national wildlife refuge sunday morning as the sun was peeking in and out of the clouds. I rounded the bend just as the low morning sun hit the tops of these winter trees. I loved how the sun just brushed the tips, painting the trees in light. I jumped out of the car just in time to get this shot, 10 seconds later the sun went behind a cloud and the scene was gone.

Wild sky with mammatus clouds forming over natural arch in Joshua Tree National Park, California.

Did you know we had a tornado touch down in Riverside County?

We had some wild skies in Joshua Tree during our night photo workshop over the weekend. I'd never seen the park so crowded in the summer time. All campsites were full by suns

et! It wasn't too hot in the late afternoon, the monsoon cooled down the higher elevations and it was perfect for sleeping with out a sleeping bag! We caught some great meteors too!!

We watched these mammatus clouds form under the giant anvil or cumulonimbus cloud. Which one is it, you tell me? We see something interesting and we shoot it now and ask questions later!!

Flying Duck just starting to land at San Joaquin Marsh. Getting close to sunset.

Stopped by the Powell Valley Overlook near Norton, Virginia last week as I was passing through. The fall colors were just beginning to appear.

A similar shot to a couple others I have posted on here of Cascade Mountain at sunrise but still a favourite of mine in terms of composition and the slightly better reflection off the ice. Taken at Johnson Lake Banff National Park, Alberta, Canada.

Thanks for looking!

Leopardo by Sandra Stillwell Presents

WBD CSX train W200-21 touches BNSF rails near Western Avenue just west of the big city. The unit LP Gas loads originated from the Wheeling & Lake Erie in Brewster, Ohio and will head to market in Kansas. Local Landmarks like Lagunitas Brewing and the dominant Sears Tower make this a fine elevated scene on the near west side of town. Of note, two 1500-series CITIRAIL GEVOs lead the train. Built in 2015 (thus the 1500 series number) these things have done little in terms of service since the time of their creation. Word on the street says it's CSX's turn to lease some of these cool leasers.

The southern seas in aquarium Mare nostrum (Montpellier - FRANCE). With its coral reef and multicolored fishes, the lagoon offers a real rainbow of the seas to the pleasure of the eyes!

Settle in the lagoon with identification cards and play to recognize fishes and other marine animals. Also, the view is amazing into the fishereye window !

"Am I still tough enough?

Feels like I'm wearing down.

Is my viciousness losing ground?

I see you left a mark

Up and down my skin

I don't know where I end

And where you begin"

Much much better on black

I've brought this in tonight as it's going to be so cold. I'm going to try to overwinter it but don't hold out too much hope. At least I've got a few photos from it!

Following critique I've lightened the surface of the pool and darkened the boulder...
