“Out beyond ideas of wrongdoing

and rightdoing there is a field.

I'll meet you there.

When the soul lies down in that grass

the world is too full to talk about.”

Tarp surface detail. This tarp sits over the pile of split wood I made for the winter, hence the frozen water droplet "fingers".

1 December 2016 .Frozen Somerset landscape. Very foggy and frosty day near Glastonbury and river Brue.

Spectacular Brisbane Sunrise - My partner thought that this looked like a tornado was about to touch down. This was the view from our verandah this morning and thought it was absolutely spectacular so had to share :)

I guess it was never meant for me to have this Poppy. I emailed two dealers as soon as possible and still missed out on her. :(

This leaf was seen floating on water (or maybe a starry sky!) at the Los Angeles County Arboretum. The contrast between the background and the pale colored leaf together with the "touch of pink" attracted me.

Varanger, Norway, March 2018 - 20

Another close encounter with his majesty the King Eider (Somateria spectabilis). I still regret I didn't use my macro lens whilst being in the hide. Am I kidding? No... I am not. These birds were so close, you could actually touch them.

from one of leigh's weddings yesterday. we had 3 in 8 days. crazy!

I was driving down one of the many back roads of Muscatatuck national wildlife refuge sunday morning as the sun was peeking in and out of the clouds. I rounded the bend just as the low morning sun hit the tops of these winter trees. I loved how the sun just brushed the tips, painting the trees in light. I jumped out of the car just in time to get this shot, 10 seconds later the sun went behind a cloud and the scene was gone.

Instruction #33

A similar shot to a couple others I have posted on here of Cascade Mountain at sunrise but still a favourite of mine in terms of composition and the slightly better reflection off the ice. Taken at Johnson Lake Banff National Park, Alberta, Canada.

Thanks for looking!

A Single Touch from You

A single touch from you sends me to Elysium

Tickling my soul like a father tickles his child

Your touch- it begets happiness

It is the Midas of good vibrations

It has the remedy to soothe my aching heart;

The power to change my mind.

Your touch ignites the motivation-

To connect to a higher inspiration.

It puts weight on my breath-

Shifts the beat of my heart from blues to salsa

Causing my emotions to dance to its rhythm.

A single touch from you sends me to Elysium.

The sun just about to set. This shot is incredibly difficult. If you expose for the sun, the sky is extremely underexposed turning almost black. If you expose for the sky, the sun is utterly overexposed causing blooming. If you try for an intermediate exposure, the sky is still underexposed and the sun is still overexposed. Maybe HDR will help with this?

This Great Blue Heron suddenly appeared with a beautiful soft touch-down ! I was hoping to see the Tri-color Heron at Bolsa Chica Ecological Reserve but failed in my quest. Hopefully it is still around for me to try another day !

30 Days of Perception - Day 2

Perception is embodied:

Today, I was thinking about the some of the different senses. I passed this tree and saw the different colours and textures of the lichen and moss and the tree trunk.

I felt the ridges and the hardness of the tree trunk, I touched the lichen with its lacy aspect and then the moss, some of it was tickly to my hand and other parts were soft and spongy like little cushions. Everything felt slightly wet after a rain shower.

I also felt the breeze blowing on my face and could feel little drops of leftover rainwater falling from the leaves overhead.

There were always a large flock of seagulls waiting in the outflow of Joe's Creek for anything that might be washing out to sea.
