Not all fish have lips, but Koi fish like this one do. Koi lips are covered with sensory cells that help them feel objects. It also helps them taste. These fish also have prominent nostrils, which you can see here on the head between the eyes. (The left nostril looks like an eye on first glance.) Water passes through the nostrils during swimming, which helps the fish smell.

You and me we were the pretenders
We let it all slip away
In the end what you don't surrender
Well the world just strips away
Girl, ain't no kindness in the face of strangers
Ain't gonna find no miracles here
Well you can wait on your blesses my darlin'
But I got a deal for you right here
I ain't lookin' for praise or pity
I ain't comin' 'round searchin' for a crutch
I just want someone to talk to
And a little of that Human Touch
Just a little of that Human Touch

Happy Super Bowl Sunday everyone. May the best team win!
I know, the Battle River Bears didn't make it to the Super Bowl this year, but who knows, maybe one'll sneak out on the field during the game for a touchdown anyway. Ya never know!
Part of the problem that the Battle River Bears always had was their claws would often pop the football and the league got tired of having to provide new balls for them constantly. It is a real problem.
Anyway . . .
And so cool about the female pilots that will do the flyover. Can't wait to see that. As for the half time show, I don't hold out much hope.
f/2.8, 1/400, ISO-100, +1 EV, 27mm, 590nm, color infrared.
I could have stopped down here a little more at the cost of diffraction, hot spotting (which is a type of discoloration usually in the center of the image caused by internal reflections when taking IR pictures with lenses with multiple elements), and I would have had to increase the ISO. I didn't have my tripod with me so I had to make the best of it with a large aperture. For this picture I wanted to have the high contrast look of a black and white photograph with just a hint of color in the water and sky.

This image I clicked in the robbers cave, near the town Dehradun in the lower Himalaya, India, it was early in the morning, the air was full of moisture and the temperature was already 30 degree, we entered a cooling small river, what a pleasure in this heat and then I saw this wonderful szene, the whole cave was filled with sunrays, I never have seen such a beauty before...
What it touches become golden, for a while, until the darkness of shadow claims back what's hers. If you can see that moment, it will touch your soul. But most of people never see, because they don't want to see, and so there's darkness in them.

A rare afternoon outing on Armand Bayou ended on a pleasant note with this Osprey putting on a nice show just before sunset.
Another magical scene in Velikoretskoye. I can't help admiring..... And I like how nature and the churches combine there....

When it landed, I felt it was a good start to my day.
Now the day is almost over and I still don't know which of the 30 in flight shots are the best... ;-)
