"I Still Can See Your Face"
At least one moment everyday
I hear the echo of your voice
And though it's only in my mind,
It stays with me, I have no choice
I reached for you as if you're here
Your tender touch, your warm embrace
And though it's been so many years
I still can see your face

Happy Super Bowl Sunday everyone. May the best team win!
I know, the Battle River Bears didn't make it to the Super Bowl this year, but who knows, maybe one'll sneak out on the field during the game for a touchdown anyway. Ya never know!
Part of the problem that the Battle River Bears always had was their claws would often pop the football and the league got tired of having to provide new balls for them constantly. It is a real problem.
Anyway . . .
And so cool about the female pilots that will do the flyover. Can't wait to see that. As for the half time show, I don't hold out much hope.
Die Bäume dürfen sich berühren.Dies ist der Sonnenuntergang, der sich im Fenster der Schmiede spiegelte.
The trees are allowed to touch; this is the sunset reflected in the window of the forge
f/2.8, 1/400, ISO-100, +1 EV, 27mm, 590nm, color infrared.
I could have stopped down here a little more at the cost of diffraction, hot spotting (which is a type of discoloration usually in the center of the image caused by internal reflections when taking IR pictures with lenses with multiple elements), and I would have had to increase the ISO. I didn't have my tripod with me so I had to make the best of it with a large aperture. For this picture I wanted to have the high contrast look of a black and white photograph with just a hint of color in the water and sky.
“A bird in hand is a certainty. But a bird in the bush may sing.” - Bret Harte. That gentle touch between human and birds is such a great feeling. It seems easier to make a connection to the Chickadees than any other bird. These guys often take time to look at you. It is sad that we have to be so careful now with the spread of the Avian flu. Last year they had to kill all the birds in our park because of it. Hopefully, our birds can survive this flu. I would miss hearing the birds singing in the bush.
A rare afternoon outing on Armand Bayou ended on a pleasant note with this Osprey putting on a nice show just before sunset.

C-GIWD, a de Havilland Canada DHC-6-300 Twin Otter, landing on runway 33 at Toronto Buttonville Municipal Airport in Markham, Ontario. It was arriving from Trois-Rivieres, Quebec and Charlo, New Brunswick.
Serial number 721 first flew on October 27, 1980. It later operated in the United States, Kenya, Australia, Seychelles, South Africa, Algeria and Mexico before returning home to Canada. The 40-year-old looked magnificent.
A couple of Griffon vulture or Eurasian griffon (Gyps fulvus) from Madzharovo Special Protection Area in Eastern Rhodope Mountains in Bulgaria, 09-01-2022.
The image was taken from a photo hide owned by "Eastern Rhodopes Nature Concervation Center" (bspb.org/.../nature-conservation-centre-eastern.../) and "Природа Маджарово ЕООД" (madzharovo.com/en). Thanks to Марин Куртев and Ernestas Balcikonis for this great opportunity.
A young holly sat in the dip of the ancient earthwork of Grimms Ditch and meets up with a bunch of young beech. An almost tender arm reaches out to greet her! Taken in Barnes's Grove on a very chilly morning. I love the playful nature of the trees that line the ditch, each time I visit there are always more scenes to uncover.

Two bi-toned Gerbera bumped into each other, but not by accident, lol...
