This was the next photograph after the “As I swoop down” image. Since the camera was about doing about 4 fps this must have been around ¼ of a sec later. By then the pelican had moved closer so I should have zoomed out a bit but didn’t unfortunately. Hence, the wing got clipped a bit but I managed to capture the beak as it skimmed the water. Should have been a great photo without the wing clipped but then I am no Arthur Morris!
I think the D90 + 70-300 though being a consumer body + lens combo tracked the subject admirably well! I am convinced this combo can take much better images than what I am capable of!

How can i touch you on your heart, like what you do on me? mother nature.
A reason why we hike to the top of mountains and top of trees. We want to see, we want to see the world around us from above.

Your touch is not a moment -
it’s a place.
A room with no corners,
where breath folds into breath
and time forgets to chase.
I live there now.
In the hush between your hands,
where even silence
feels like grace.

Too often we underestimate the power of a touch, a smile, a kind word, a listening ear, an honest compliment, or the smallest act of caring, all of which have the potential to turn a life around. -

As I was taking this a train (the tracks were maybe 50 feet from me) began honking persistently as it passed me. It then began to slow down and came to a stop. This scared me because I knew i was trespassing on the property I was shooting at. So , i began walking back towards home, which just so happens to be on the other side of the railroad tracks, about a mile down the line. Once i got the place where i had to cross over, I felt kind of trapped, and had to resort to shimmying under one of the cars. It was a surprisingly tight fit, but i made it out okay. And that is my story for today.
It feels weird to do a square crop. I kind of wish i had left it in a panorama. Oh, well. At least it adds a little bit of diversity to my stream...

TOUCH THE HEAVENS. Little human ape, little brother. The great Creator has made my neck to stretch to the heavens. I whisper to the great beyond, and the great beyond to me. You can never know my perspective, my feelings, my joys, my fears, and the fullness of my life. I belong to God, and not to you. It is not for you to say that my life is worth less than yours. It is not for you to adorn your living room with my body, showing my lifeless shell as a badge of your honor. There is no honor in the needless taking of the life of a child of God. I know God says so, because I am made to touch the heavens.

The falling Lisianthus flowers refer to the theatrical effect of applause or cheering. Lisanthus symbolises appreciation and gratitude. The people depicted are an experienced nurse and a doctor, who together depict the impact, dedication and human side of working in healthcare. The arrow points to the left, as in the past an arrow pointing to the left referred to in symbolic/spiritual context to ward off evil.
