Perfectly sound bridge, aside from the missing planks... The water moving beneath it was flowing fast enough that it was a little freaky to stand over the gaping holes and look down.

Unfortunately our cat has been missing since October 13th, we hope he comes home soon. This is one of the many flyers we've put up around our community.

Playing around with one of my favorite photos. Here is the original....
Francis Hurt built Oak Hurst in 1848.The Johnson family, of the nearby Bridon Wire, had the house enlarged. In the early 1900's it was a retreat for the local Diocese, later becomeing flats in the 1970's, a venture that wasn't too successful. By the mid 1980's the company that owned it were bankrupt and it has been abandoned now for nearly quarter of a century. Inside is ruined, with floors down, and joists hanging precariously from crumbling walls. Rumours of a haunting today proved unfounded.
I went up to the lobby guard at Gateway 1, and asked him if there had been any payphones in the lobby. He told me, "You know where there's ONE working payphone? Go over in front of the Horne's Building, and there's one there." This is what I found instead: two empties on the edge of a construction site. (And was the tarp cut for phone use at one point, or only to take the phones away?)

The missing piece in the cat puzzle. I've been taking pictures to document where missing pieces occur so that I can either refer back when we put it together again or notify the next puzzler if we pass it on to someone else.
