Another shot from the recent SGW shoot. Your job is to find the missing tooth. ;-)
Strobist: one AB800 camera right at 1/4 power into a shoot through umbrella; one AB800 camera left at 1/8 power into a silver reflecting umbrella. Both umbrellas were set low. Fired with a sync chord.

Clearing one's mind as the sun sets and the day comes to an end.
But something is missing. You are missing.
I hope, that one day, I will have a chance to be able to ask you to join me to watch this magnificent view.
Wishing if I were better ... ...
Sigh! I love this girl! I love her amazing hair! I miss her! She is currently staying with her amazing customizer, Melacacia. She's getting a touch up. Can't wait for her return!
Probably should go back. the well-known view over Hollywood from Mulholland Drive. My last day in LA.

I've known she was missing since last night. I have looked everywhere but can't find her, I put her cage on the floor with food and water and she didn't come back. I'm so worried about her!! >.<
These are my Dad's; his Navigator's brevet, his RAF pin and his flying log book.
You can probably just make out the word "missing" which has been scratched out at the bottom of the page. My dad was a lucky one. On the night of this raid which resulted in the loss of all crew aboard his Halifax bomber, he had been taken into hospital with pneumonia. A replacement navigator perished in his place.
Before every raid my dad would be violently sick - yet like so many others he kept going behind enemy lines, night after night, knowing that he only had a 30% chance of returning. Such were the pressures that, during a briefing, if it was announced that the slower Wellington bombers would be part of the raid, a cheer would go round the squadron briefing room.
For my German friends, this was a war against an ideology, not necessarily a people. My dad enjoyed his post-war visits to Germany when I lived there, and was made most welcome by our German friends, despite their knowing what his wartime role had been.
I only know the details of the pilot who perished that night. They are below.

in this case the tesselation lies behind the sheet of hilli's wonderful washi and so the pattern is only seen as a ghostly shade. I really love the effect :-)))

Portland, OR
I know I never post random stuff like this, but I'm having a good time learning to shoot with film. Don't ruin it for me!
Stopped in at my favorite toy shop in Portland to grab some vinyl goodness and ended up talking to one of the employees there about cameras for a good 20 mins. I asked if I could have a shot of him working and he kindly obliged.

Maybe I'll be lucky enough to see the odd shieldbug sunning itself this month... certainly not today! Simply can't wait for them to be active again though!! Lol! This one is from July.

I was going through my holiday archives just to remind myself of how it felt to relax in the sun and came across this :)
Have a good weekend.
The other tail of this USMC F-35B has the squadron ID code 'CF' (for VMFA-211) on it, this tail is missing the letters.
Lately, I've been dealing with more than one problem with the US Postal Service. Pig/Duck has been missing since I shipped it to Austin, Texas and was never received by his new owner. After this incident, one of my Express delivery packages arrived two days late at its destination, and another precious package sent Priority Mail last Thursday, March 8 hasn't reached its owner yet.
More than a month later, not only it is disappointing that Pig/Duck got lost in the mail, but also that it took that long to find someone who was willing or capable to help find it.
If you are not familiar withPig/Duck, I can tell you that he is one of our softies featured in this book. You can also see a movie of Pig/Duck's original drawing here.
UPDATE: Pig/Duck is done traveling through the US. Who knows what adventures he had while he was gone! After 40 days of being missing, he has finally arrived at its destination and his new owner is happy at last. Thanks to everyone who shared their concern for PD's whereabouts and special thanks to the one person who cared enough to help us find him.

Taking a short break from posting edited photos from my creative shoots for a moment to post a little tribute to my mum. Because she was here and she will always matter.
**
Dear Mum,
It's been another year without you. It doesn't get easier, although people who have never lost someone significant still expect that it will. It doesn't. You're with me every minute of every single day. I've wanted to text you so many times. I've wanted to see you more.
Your granddaughters are growing up. Too quickly for my liking and no doubt for yours. But they'll always be our little girls. I know you're watching over them and us and proud of the way we're trying. Your sons are doing well. Struggling with missing you and certain times are harder than others but they're doing their best.
Your best friends did an amazing job looking after us in the first year and have stayed in contact. You always thought of them as additional family and they truly never let you down Mum. They are everything you always thought them to be. You wouldn't be surprised to know that and neither are we; but we're grateful all the same.
I miss you. I love you. Always wishing you were here. Angry and sad that you're not.
With love always,
Kel x

To all of the people out there doing their best,
I see you. If all you did this year was survive, well done. Don't compare your story to others. We're all different. And absolutely no one puts everything on social media so you're comparing yourself with someone else's heavily edited version of themselves anyway.
I hope you all have a happy, safe and fun start to the new year. Do more of what gives you peace and enjoyment. Do less of what doesn't. If something isn't working, try something different. Don't be afraid to try something new. The only time you'll ever fail is when you don't try at all.
Happy New Year x
The view from our flat in the Eastonstraat in Amsterdam Osdorp. This stop has been abandoned since. Grey rolling stock were supposed to be a nono on rapid light rail line 1 but it happened often when not enough yellow liveried stock was available.

Balmaha sits on the shores of Loch Lomond. I don't say this about many places. None, really. I would live there. Absolutely. Tomorrow.
Loch Lomond is magical, even in the rain. Especially in the rain. It has to be magical to have stolen my attention these many months after I was there.
I am missing it tonight. Can you blame me?

As far as the photo goes, there's no magic here. 67 seconds at f/4.0, ISO 200, 10mm with the Sigma 10-20.
"C'è una poesia nel Tempio, incisa nella pietra, intitolata La Mancanza. Ci sono solo tre parole: ma il poeta le ha cancellate, perché la mancanza non si può leggere, si può solo avvertire."

It feels weird to have not posted anything Chicago in a while. It feels like I haven't shot anything in years. I have not visited downtown since I did the sunset tour in early July. Well, the sun was misplaced to the right or maybe the skyline was just not in the right place :) . I hope the colors suffice.
