Great Blue Heron on his way!

One fine evening I headed to Great Meadows Wildlife Refuge in Sudbury, Massachusetts. This is a really nice wildlife place nearby that I visit often. Among meadows is Sudbury river that provides enough food and natural resources to many birds for whom this place is a paradise. This place has boardwalks and platform for people to watch birds. If you really want to see the action though, you will need to explore the unbeaten paths. There are parts of trail that would land you to waterfront. As they say, carry a big lens and walk slow! I did precisely that. Even with that I manage to scare away 2-3 herons that were having a great time at the water. To my surprise, another heron sat further away quietly waiting for its food. I am always amazed at their patience. And then they teach me a lesson of patience or two as I have to wait for them to do something. I captured some shots. After some time he moved over to other side of the river. It was getting darker and I wasn't sure if I would see any action. Before I leave, this guy suddenly leapt up in the air. There was my shot!
