Stellar's Jays really seem to be jerks most of the time, harassing other birds and screeching like entitled toddlers. Glad this culprit took a second to relax and regroup, however, before his next bout of mischief...

a large and fairly common Lapwing in Southern Africa that is not really associated with water. Its loud call is a common day and night sound in many areas

Black Skimmer (Rynchops niger)

Edwin B. Forsythe National Wildlife Refuge in Galloway, NJ.

“Black-headed Grosbeak parents fly south with worn feathers after breeding season. Their molting locations had been a mystery. The California scientists solved it with relatively inexpensive Global Positioning System (GPS) receiving devices.

They attached the 1-gm electronic devices to a leg of each grosbeak. The devices wake up every 2-6 weeks, record the GPS position and switch off. The GPS device, leg harness and leg bands weigh less than 2 g, or the equivalent of a long-distance runner carrying a laptop in a backpack. Each bird must be recaptured to download the data.” Topbirdingtours.com

Waterbirds come here but I seldom see them near this shelter.

I'm not sure about the name, if it's wrong, please tell me.

The photo, although okay was the only flight shot I have that is usable and to get this took all my skills as a 40 year image manipulator to get
