this very young Hawfinch was seen at a pool in a local forest a few days ago.

There are juvenile Hawfinches around since early June so this is quite late

the Rufous-tailed Weaver is a very large weaver species, similar in size to Buffalo-Weavers.

Photographed in the remote western Serengeti in Tanzania.

I had never heard of this weaver species before this sighting

Blacktoft Sands has seen a great influx of people, birdwatchers to see the white tailed Plover. This bird has been very mobile and indeed on our day the Plover was seen at almost every hide by myself and Phil Smithson.
