Thanks for sharing! #Repost @nathfiction (@get_repost) ・・・ First round of tracking guitars with the awesome Little Baby Sharks. They were after a bright and crisp guitar tone that still had bite and depth, so after trying out a couple of different cabs and heads we landed on the @marshallamps_uk JCM900 on the high gain channel set at 7 out of 20 then coupled it with the @fulltoneeffects OCD with the drive all the way down and the tone quite high, this added weight to the sound and gave it the bite that we wanted without it being too distorted and losing any clarity. Then if we wanted that extra gnarly bite we punched in the @raygunfx Booster which when added to a distorted signal adds a bunch of saturation / compression. I then coupled this with a Marshall 1960A JCM900 cab (a combo I strangely very rarely use!) which sounded bright and direct with a tight midrange and low end. To capture the guitar I threw a SE electronics R1 front and centre with a Shure SM57 angled in on one side and a BeyerDynamic M201TG straight on on the other side, both the R1 and 201 have a smooth top end and great mids with the R1 adding a bunch of weight and then the 57 has that harshness and energy which complimented the others well.
