On The Bella Coola Chilcotin Highway, British Columbia.
I asked this lovely lady to sit on the dock and pose for me as she photographed the lake. This is Anahim Lake in central British Columbia and the dock belongs to Eagle's Rest Lodge, and it was a great place to stop for the night. The views are spectacular, and the lake is teeming with fish which are constantly jumping. The fish are naturally hatched here and not stocked.

I finally splashed out on an Mp3 player, and I am pleased with my purchase.
It has been a few years since I noticed the arrival of MP3 players made by then unkowns such as Rio and iRiver. Music players with flash memory and no moving parts had been predicted since as long as I can remember, so they came as no surprise, but at first I could not see the point.
The memory was small, it was irreplacable, and I did not know how to get MP3 files.
The player above comes with software for converting CD music to Mp3 and has 1GB of memory which is enough for 200 songs or about 12 hours of music.
It also has a voice recorder which I hope to use for recording English speakers for use as teaching materials. The reason why I purchased this particular player, at auction for about $150 USD, is because these older iRiver players accept an external microphone, which is pretty essential for recording dialogues.
The reason why I am recommending it here is because this player, weighing only 60gms including battery, with no moving parts, and an armband, can be worn while jogging.
My play list includes
Messengers, "That's the Way a Woman is"
Tracy Chapman, "Fast Car"
The Cure, "Close to Me"
Elvis, "His Latest Flame"
and
The Zombies, "Time of the Season"
The effect, the buzz, the improvement in jogging speed is phenominal. it is almost frightening. Now I know why Lance Amstrong has an Mp3 player built into his sunglasses.
This image was taken by me but is of a device copyright of iRiver. I hope they forgive my posting it here.
The first recording was his debut album. His final (digital) recording was much slower than the first, more introspective, and structured, reflecting a "constant rhythmic reference point".
"I haven't understood a bar of music in my life, but I have felt it."
– Igor Stravinsky
"We only believe in those thoughts which have been conceived not in the brain but in the whole body."
– W.B. Yeats
I am a quarter of a century older that Gould was when he died. I am still seeking my rhythmic reference point. I still do not understand the structure of the music I want to play (to be clear, I am speaking of music metaphorically), but on occasion I do think that I can feel it.
There are even times when my body and my brain speak to each other. I work on that, too. In a slower tempo than before.
I am aware that time passes.
(Sound track : Glenn Gould playing Johann Sebastian Bach's Goldberg Variations. You may choose the tempo.)

They wanted to make recordings, but I've found it infinitely more difficult to make a recording than to make a picture. So, here's a picture. I've been snowed under with work and photography, I feel like I'm hanging on by my nails. The 365 project must go on.......

Macro shot of a Recorder instrument for the Macro Monday's theme "Redux 2017". I thought I'd give the musical instrument theme another go with a more literal approach. HMM!
