The Winter Solstice is here, which is always welcome, as the days begin getting longer and Spring is getting closer. Nice!
Looking down the highway into the golden sunrise mist along Mt. Rainier's Reflection Lake. The view of the Lake and The Mountain to the left in comments.
May your day be bright and Merry!

There are days when you have to row against the wind with all your strength and others in which you need to pull the oars in the boat and let yourself be carried away by the current. The difficulty lies in establishing today which day it is. (Simona Barè Neighbors)

Reflections at Lock 10, Audlem Locks, this includes what looks like the old lock keepers housing.
Through a series of 15 locks the canal level is rained by 30 meters as you head south from Audlem, Cheshire to Market Drayton in Staffordshire
Most likely a few million images of Neuschwanstein Castle have been taken over the years, but this one is mine. Shot was taken from Marienbrücke on a cloudy drizzly normal late autumn day. Hadn't really thought about posting till today. Hope everyone on flickr is enjoying their week. :-)
Fradley Junction is a canal junction between Fradley and Alrewas near Lichfield, Staffordshire, England and the point at which the Coventry Canal joins the Trent and Mersey Canal. This is looking down towards Keepers Lock from a bridge near the Swan Pub. I didn't go in the pub, it was such a lovely day I just took loads of photos. Here is the first - hope you like it. I textured it, using a combination of my own and a lovely texture from Pongo 2007 - thank you Christy !

Not sure about the location on Flickr's map ... the postcode is DE13 7DN if you'd like to visit - well worth it, lots to do for the children and adults alike. Pub, cafe, wildlife centre, holiday park buried in the trees. And, of course, the canal !
Thanks as always for your support, faves and comments.

Guelph’s Covered Bridge is a landmark crossing the Speed River. This magnificent lattice bridge was built in 1992 by over 400 volunteers from the Timber Framers Guild. Here is a video of how this was achieved: youtu.be/YnRtuAf0GGQ . Shot with Nikon D600, Sigma 24-70mm, F10, 3 brackets, on tripod, merged in Aurora HRD.
Un rayo de esperanza
Lightning of Hope
Enhorabuena Diana, Lina, Diego, Rosalba, Ricardo, Enrique...

I rarely saw such a fantastically beautiful evening sky as here on a bay in the north of the Isle of Skye, left the ruins of Duntolm Castle (June, 3, 2010, 10:36 pm).

In the glow of sunset on June 29, 2016, an eastbound BNSF grain empty passes the tall cliffs rimming Lombard, Montana. In a couple of hours, the innocent-looking clouds will build into impressive thunderstorms flashing over the ghost town, while Montana Rail Link tonnage continues to roll through the night.

==================
The Catalan village of Àreu and it's beautiful valley seen from the medieval church of St. Feliu de la Força d'Àreu.
The temple has several features to be appreciated. The main complex houses ten thousand miniature gold Buddhas. The Buddhas are housed on shelves throughout the complex. The grounds also host a seven story stupa utilizing authentic Chinese architecture. But the real treat lies within the stupa, a 5 story tall bronze statue of Buddha. The Buddha is a truly awesome work of art that needs to be seen
In the heart of the old town, the Palais de l'Isle, a former prison and Palais de Justice (law courts), is today home to the Annecy History museum. Near this symbolic building of the 12th century, the Sainte-Claire street is also an unmissable place during the visit for its beautiful arcaded houses. Towering over the town, the museum-castle, former residence of the counts of Geneva and the dukes of Genevois-Nemours, is dedicated to archaeology, ethnology, art, history and alpine lakes.

It is strange at times to think like sunset, such a frequent element in the ordinary succession of days, probably arousing a lot of fascination and feeling. That image of slow departure, that slight fading, which fades out to no longer, is full of metaphorical references: from the dazzling transparency of the sun flows into the melancholy of the shadow, in a paradoxical union of anxiety and relaxation.

The leaves are all gone for another season. Soon the river will begin to freeze up and the snow will start to fall. It saddens me - as I am a summer person.
