They have long whiskers, and small ear flaps, which differentiate them from seals.

The Laugavegur is a famous trekking route in South-West Iceland from the hot springs area of Landmannalaugar to the glacial valley of Þórsmörk . It is noted for the wide variety of landscapes on its 55 km (34 mi) path. The route is typically completed over 2–4 days with potential stops at the mountain huts at Hrafntinnusker, Álftavatn, Hvanngil and Emstrur. An ultramarathon is held on the route each July. It is possible to combine the trek with the Fimmvörðuháls route which goes over the pass from Þórsmörk to Skógar for an additional one or two days or an additional 25 km (16 mi). Landmannalaugar, Þórsmörk, and Skógar are all reachable by bus during the summer. A bus from Hella connects with Álftavatn once a day during the summer.

A focus stacked, bracketed, long exposure, landscape image of moss growing in a forest in Perthshire, Scotland.

This is my first proper attempt at this style of photography. The moss in the foreground, as you can see, is very small. So this made the focus stack quite tricky. I wish I had taken one extra shot, focusing on the area between the moss at the very foreground and then just behind it. It would have made it a much more seamless image. A good start though that I am happy with.

THANKS FOR YOUR VISIT AND FAVES

Friday's here. Enjoy!

Early morning in Wittlich Valley often very beautiful lighting effects at the time of sunrise, as fog or mist filters the light of the rising sun (may,24, 2012, 5:30 am).

The Bloemenmarkt is the world's only floating flower market. Founded in 1862, it is sited in Amsterdam, Netherlands, on Singel between Muntplein and Koningsplein in the city's southern canal belt. It includes 15 florists and garden shops as well as a range of souvenir gifts.

What amazing light I saw this evening as we finished up work for the day and off I went to walk about and take in the sights. Couple of Dutch Botters sitting in the harbor caught my eye. One of those images that I can't decide between B&W or Color, happening a bit more lately.

This is the final image of the series. It is my favourite. Doesn't it look like a painting in the style of abstract impressionism?

Fence Friday, the grass is always greener edition

HFF, folks!

Solamente recuerdos,

nostálgicas historias,

que nunca han sucedido, ´

que vuelco en unos cuentos

para seguir pensando

que no soy forastero,

que aún hay alguien que sabe

mi nombre, mi apellido,

que comparte mi abrazo

y se llama mi amigo.

The Glärnisch is a mountain massif of the Schwyz Alps, overlooking the valley of the Linth in the Swiss canton of Glarus. It consists of several summits of which the highest is 2,915 metres above sea level. The other main summits are the Bächistock (2,914 metres), followed by the Vrenelisgärtli ("Verena's Little Garden" at 2,904 metres) and the Ruchen (2,901 metres). Until 1995, the highest point of the massif was considered to be the Bächistock, as the current main summit was thought to be lower (2,909 m).
