If you arrange a beauty contest among the destination of Bangladesh, Shusong Durgapur of Birishiri will surely get the prize of the most photogenic natural look of all. Its scenic beauty is very unique. The main attraction of Birishiri is the ceramic hill of Durgapur and the picturesque landscape along the Shomeshwari River. Except the rainy season it’s hard to find any water in the river and that’s why the river changes its landscape color with the seasons. There is also an ethnic museum at Birishiri. It’s a must place to visit while you are in Birishiri.

Mont Blanc (French) or Monte Bianco (Italian), meaning "White Mountain", is the highest mountain in the Alps, Western Europe and the European Union. It rises 4,810.45 m (15,782 ft)[2] above sea level and is ranked 11th in the world in topographic prominence. It is also sometimes known as La Dame blanche (French for "the White Lady") or Il Bianco (Italian for "the White One").
The mountain lies between the regions of Aosta Valley, Italy, and Haute-Savoie, France and the location of the summit is on the watershed line between the valleys of Ferret and Veny in Italy and the Arve Valley in France.
The two most famous towns near Mont Blanc are Courmayeur in Aosta Valley, Italy, and Chamonix in Haute-Savoie, France—the site of the first Winter Olympics. A cable car ascends and crosses the mountain from Courmayeur to Chamonix.
Begun in 1957 and completed in 1965, the 11.6 km (7¼ mi) Mont Blanc Tunnel runs beneath the mountain between these two countries and is one of the major trans-Alpine transport routes.
The Mont Blanc massif is popular for mountaineering, hiking, skiing and snowboarding.
The summit of Mont Blanc is a thick, perennial ice and snow dome whose thickness varies, so no exact and permanent summit elevation can be determined. But accurate measurements have been made. For a long time its official elevation was 4,807 m (15,771 ft). Then in 2002, the IGN and expert surveyors, with the aid of GPS technology, measured it to be 4,810.40 m (15,782 ft 2 in).

The Aiguille du Midi (3,842 m) is a mountain in the Mont Blanc massif in the French Alps.
The cable car to the summit, the Téléphérique de l'Aiguille du Midi, was built in 1955 and held the title of the world's highest cable car for about two decades. It still holds the record as the highest vertical ascent cable car in the world, from 1,035 m to 3,842 m. There are two sections: from Chamonix to Plan de l'Aiguille at 2,317 m and then directly, without any support pillar, to the upper station at 3,777 m (the building contains an elevator to the summit). The span of the second section is 2,867 m measured directly, but only 2,500 m measured horizontally. It thus still is the second longest span width, measured directly.

the heat reflects off the grass, and for the first time in a long time, she feels happy. perched upon the ground, she looks toward the sky, waiting for the world to change, but all the time knowing that if it never does, she'll be perfectly content.

I wasn't overly happy with the white balance and the way the city kind of looks "Smudgy" in this shot.. I tried so many different settings but as I am still learning so much I honestly think it was because of the lens I was using. So when I get the time I'll return here with another lens to try it out. Other then that, I liked the rainbow reflections. :)
March & even into April is going to be a VERY busy few weeks for me so I'm trying to keep up as much as possible. My daughter and I are going to be apart of a wedding party in two weeks so I'm looking forward to seeing my little princess dressed up as a flower girl! I'll be sure to get lots of pictures then haha!

The first definition of a wine-area called Chianti was made in 1716. It described the area near the villages of Gaiole, Castellina and Radda; the so-called Lega del Chianti and later Provincia del Chianti (Chianti province).

Wish you all a most relaxing coming Weekend.

Emily Dickinson

Minarets – Ediza Lake – Ansel Adams Wilderness
This is a scene I captured in 2009. Back then I processed a three-shot HDR version, which after recently reviewing, I decided that I was not happy with the final image. Back then, I had very minimal Photoshop skills, and I thought HDR would be the best way to process the shot.
As I have now developed a workflow using Adobe Raw, I decided to re-process this single image. Final tweaks were still performed in Photoshop.
A 6.5 mile hike is required to access this Sierra Wilderness gem. The destination makes the hard work worth it, as you arrive at Ediza Lake, idyllically nestled below Mt. Ritter, Mt. Banner and The Minarets.

A bit of an onshore breeze...
It looks like I still have space on my photographic trip through the Highlands of Scotland in October, drop me a line to angusclyne@hotmail.com if you are interested...
Part 2
I decided I wanted to do a series about this. I have more photos from yesterday that are probably better, with nicer emotion. but honestly I don't feel like faking emotions right now. My surroundings are beautiful, but I cannot see it. Many people say the place I live is so nice, but try to stay here more than 10 years and its not so nice anymore. I wish I could go anywhere I want, but I have school I need to finish here before I can go. I feel good, and not good at the same time. and now I am done with complaining!

Ok, I saved the best my favorite for last. (I actually have a few others, but won’t post for awhile, if at all.)
After I came up with the idea to do a 12-photo panorama using my new 80-200mm lens, it was already fully night. This was the result. While I was happy with the frames (it wouldn’t be until I went home days later I actually edited/merged the photos into a panorama), I knew I wanted to return and try the same while there was still some light in the sky to illuminate the buildings. This 6-photo image [6c1r] was shot two days later. Each frame was exposed 2.5sec.
I hope you can look past the watermarks – I know they’re annoying – but I wanted to share this larger than the 1024px version I normally do. This “original” size is only 40% of its actual size. Please have a look. There aren’t many photos I’m proud of, but I liked the way this came out.

Last shot from my recent trip up to Glasgow.
--
This is the Clyde Arc (known locally as the Squinty Bridge), a road bridge spanning the River Clyde in the City of Glasgow.
--
A prominent feature of the bridge is its innovative curved design and the way that it crosses the river at an angle, it also boasts some nice LED lighting which change colour.

A wider angle shot exposed for 15 seconds.

The sky is still clearly overexposed but the fairy tale landscape might compensate that, at least a little.
The Pyrenees mountain range forms a fantastic backdrop to the entire Ariège Department, rising some 3,000 meter (10,000 feet) in the Montcalm Massif, along the border with Andorra and Spain. The highest peaks are clearly visible visible from Toulouse in the Haute Garonne. It is one of the least populated and most unspoiled regions of France. The locals enjoy keeping traditions alive, especially old farming techniques. Consequently, as fewer insecticides, for example, have been used, the flora and fauna of the area continue to be rich in both diversity and numbers. Butterflies are common and birds are numerous; particularly noticeable are large birds of prey, including the magnificent Griffon vultures.

It's very rare that we get to see frozen lakes here in the West Coast. The last time the road to this lake was open in January was 1976. This past January Diego and I spend a couple of days admiring the frozen lakes. This is Tenaya Lake, located in Yosemite National Park, CA. Have a great week everyone and may the light be with you.

It feels good to be finally posting on Flickr after a long gap. I have been busy, unwell and lazy all at the same time and therefore haven't had the time to spend time here.
This is a long exposure shot from my last year's trip to Goa, here in India. A friend of mine did a great job of playing statue for me for about 10 seconds to get a near perfect image. You can still see the blur in the cigarette but I still like the overall look and feel of this image.
I hope to catchup with all your streams today. Have a wonderful week, everyone!

Crocus - The name of the genus is derived from the Greek krokos (κρόκος). This in turn is probably a loan word from a Semitic language, related to Hebrew כרכום karkōm, Aramaic ܟܟܘܪܟܟܡܡܐ kurkama, Persian and Arabic كركم kurkum, which mean saffron or saffron yellow (Wikipedia).

Until 1958, these columns were used in the U.S. Capitol. Now, you can find them on a Hill that borders Maryland and Washington D.C., at the National Arboretum. They are a bit spooky looking, if you ask me.
