New Jersey Zombie Walk - 2015
ASBURY PARK — The owner of a local bar said he will be purchasing the rights to the New Jersey Zombie Walk, a record-setting annual event whose founder announced last month he would be cancelling it due to spiraling costs.
The Asbury Park Sun reported that John McGillion, who runs Johnny Mac's, said the sale would be wrapped up by the end of the week. The annual event will also continue to maintain its relationship with the Chamber of Commerce, McGillion said.
Other aspects will possibly stay the same too, including the involvement of Jason Meehan, who first organized the walk in 2007 before announcing in August that the macabre march had become a victim of its own popularity. On two occasions, in 2010 and 2013, the event broke the Guinness record for "largest gathering of zombies." Two years ago nearly 10,000 faux undead turned up for the pre-Halloween warmup.
But increasing attendance brought with it rising costs, Meehan said last month, until the event became too expensive to run without "turning it into something more akin to a ticketed convention or festival."

So, I'm watching "The Walking Dead" last night and I hear a line delivered by Dale Horvath (Jeffrey DeMunn in the real world) that really sticks with me: "If I'd known the world was ending, I'd have brought better books." All I could do was laugh and nod, because, really, when faced with a zombie apocalypse, you're going to want to have your favorite books.
Yes, there will be abandoned libraries and book stores that you could pick through. Heck, even other people's houses will be open to you. But YOUR books, your favorite books will be worn and battered, bent and smudged. They'll have broken bindings and bent corners, warped pages, and grease smears. They're little pieces of yourself. And when you're on the road, away from everything you know and love, you're going to want them with you.
That being said, these are the ten books I would have with me. These are the ones I come back to time and again when I want a little comfort or just to escape my life for awhile. Laugh at my choices if you must, but think of which titles YOU would take if you were facing a nomadic life in an old camper, searching for refuge from the zombie apocalypse.

Mistress Zeneca boarders on "prepper" with her growing zombie survival knowledge. She'll teach you how to survive the zombie apocalypse!
Today I killed my first zombie. While I'm a girl who has never been a stranger or shy to bringing death. There was something oddly eerie about killing something or someone that were already dead. However, this is the world we are now faced with and no longer are people like me the monster...or are we?
Wacko Soap Plant is currently featuring Scott Hove's "My Own Personal Apocalypse" where he takes the celebratory confection and turns it into something, well, creepy. I thought I'd ease into this with one of the sweeter pieces.
I have some seriously craze awesome friends (emphasis on crazy). For Christmas, they made sure I was all set for the zombie apocalypse.
One of the best parts about the SEMA show in Las Vegas are project vehicles.
Project vehicles are made to promote a specific vehicle to a narrow audience. They usually follow a crazy theme and take whatever concept they are based upon to the extreme.
In most cases, the origninal car manufacturer donates the base model vehicle for one dollar (they are called "Dollar cars". Usually, they are sold under a scrap title and cannot be driven or resold. From there another company will fabricate accessories according to the proposed storyline.
I am a huge fan of the AMC TV Show "The Walking Dead" which is based on a popular graphic novel series written by Robert Kirkman (and illustrated by Tony Moore) using the same name. This project vehicle is obviously a cross-marketing idea between Hyundai and the Comic Book Series.

New Jersey Zombie Walk
Asbury Park, New Jersey
October 4, 2014
Last year, The New Jersey Zombie Walk shattered records, proving to the world that the Jersey Shore lives. We showed what it really means to be strong and we are a community built of many amazing people…or should we say Zombies? Are you ready to stumble the streets of Asbury Park in the name of a Zombie’s favorite thing … BRAINS?
This year it’s Zombies vs. Brain Cancer! To help us fight the war against brain cancer we are calling on the most powerful army we know, the undead. The 2014 New Jersey Zombie Walk will kick off “GREY MATTERS,” a campaign that spreads awareness about brain cancer.
This year’s campaign will benefit Camp Jinka, a free summer program for children and teenagers whose lives have been impacted by brain cancer. This amazing retreat encourages a connection with others who are experiencing similar life altering events. All the kids of Camp Jinka are residents of New Jersey and each camper brings with them a different story. Some are fighting a brain tumor themselves, others are trying to help a parent through treatment, some are survivors, but all of them are strong fighters!

prologue:
Imagine one day everything changes from the “typical” routine you run with. Imagine if one day the world you once knew turned into that topic of “what if a zombie apocalypse broke out”. What would you do?!
Jeyun And Miyui met in a bar through a mutual friend just 5 months ago during an emergency meet up. Everyone there was handed their folder which represented when and where they were being deployed. “So soon? Must be something extremely dangerous” Jeyun thought to himself. He looked over at Miyui to see what slip she pulled out and it was red just like his. Jeyun walked over to her while listening to the Major speak on stage, he then whispered to her, “You too, huh?”. Miyui looked up at him and nodded, “I don’t normally get red slipped unless I’m protecting someone, but my slip says ‘squad 001’, do you know what that means?”. Jeyun looked at her in shock then took her slip from her hands reading it carefully. “Well shit, you’re in my squad”, he reached his hand out for a handshake, Miyui shook his hand as he said “Captain Kishimoto, Nice to formally meet you First Lieutenant Furusato”. Jeyun was fixated with her beauty so he begun to flirt. They both ended up spending their last 3 months getting to know eachother before being deployed and damn it was worth it.

Another somewhat random selection from my Friday birthday party...
Much gratitude for an amazing community...who are amply prepared for a zombie apocalypse
No injuries were (surprisingly) sustained during this shoot...
