Zombie!

This is Guy (the zombie). He is a part of "Wisconsin Scaryland" (www.wisconsinscaryland.com/), and was at the Dane County Fair with Amanda to promote the haunted house for the upcoming Halloween season. Funny how when I go out to take pictures, my best picture is often one of the first things I see, and has nothing to do with the kind of pictures I set out to take that night. In this case it would have been carnival ride photos. You know, light trails and such.

Guy was cool about having his picture taken and was willing to use his hand held remote to generate smoke while I was snapping. He immediately went into a sinister face and didn't have to be coached in order for me to get a good zombie face. Maybe he was a real zombie?

No Escape, back into the hole you go!

I wasn't able to get up to BrickCon this year, but after seeing the Zombie Apocafest display prize category of "Best Apocafied Official Set" I could not resist turning the 5972 Space Truck Getaway official set into a wheeled beast-of-a cargo truck.

When the zombie apocalypse hit, Snake (no, not Pliskin) the truck driver figured cargo would still have to get from-A-to-B if the defenses were to hold against the hoard. Why not jack-up his own truck for that very purpose?!?!

Features include:

Zombie-skewering spikes (as per original)

Hoard-decimating plow (as per original)

Battle damage and graffiti (as per original)

Yellow freight container (as per original)

Full suspension

Of course, flame-shooting stacks (kinda like the original...in a way...)

And many others, see the notes in other images

Snake the driver is of course a combobulation of the two characters from the set.

See other angles in the set here, and the video of the suspension working here.

I attempted to use as many of the original parts from the set as I could, while some others were necessary.

Built with Andrew B's layout in mind. I was all about it until Mike P had to go and do the whole trailer wreaking ball thing. What a bastard ;)

Taken from Andrew Becraft's flickr stream.

Also seen on Gizmodo and i09.

About the truck: I originally built the cab with the upcoming zombie apocalypse layout in mind and was totally stoked on it. That is until I saw Mike Psyki's ridicious version of the concept. At the time I was chillin' at a friend's pad and knew a trailer had to be built. I used Pauls' bricks to throw something together but wasn't quite satisfied as the cab was 10 wide and didn't really mesh with the trailer being only 8 studs wide. I liked some of the ideas and decided that I wanted a trailer made out of my own brick and knew that I could up the size to be proportionate. It of course helped motivate me once I found out about the loot involved with the zombie layout. Big ups to Andrew B for putting on quite the show.

This image was shot on expired film. See photo set description for details.

New Jersey Zombie Walk - 2015

ASBURY PARK — The owner of a local bar said he will be purchasing the rights to the New Jersey Zombie Walk, a record-setting annual event whose founder announced last month he would be cancelling it due to spiraling costs.

The Asbury Park Sun reported that John McGillion, who runs Johnny Mac's, said the sale would be wrapped up by the end of the week. The annual event will also continue to maintain its relationship with the Chamber of Commerce, McGillion said.

Other aspects will possibly stay the same too, including the involvement of Jason Meehan, who first organized the walk in 2007 before announcing in August that the macabre march had become a victim of its own popularity. On two occasions, in 2010 and 2013, the event broke the Guinness record for "largest gathering of zombies." Two years ago nearly 10,000 faux undead turned up for the pre-Halloween warmup.

But increasing attendance brought with it rising costs, Meehan said last month, until the event became too expensive to run without "turning it into something more akin to a ticketed convention or festival."

Another somewhat random selection from my Friday birthday party...

Much gratitude for an amazing community...who are amply prepared for a zombie apocalypse

No injuries were (surprisingly) sustained during this shoot...

"In YO face" Zombie Edition....

Lens.. 50mm 1.4g af-s

Lighting.. sb-600 w/ omni bounce

View On Black!

I edited in the BG using an old sunny shot - Still doesn't seem quite like I envision - I think I envision it after dark with buildings lit only by flame.....

Is it better this way or on the plain background?

ALSO: Life Decision. I've been meaning to quit my life-sucking job and have been looking at 2 degree programs that would help me move into graphic and web design and pro photography: an MS in Graphics from DePaul (focuses a bit more on rendering than the scripts I need) or a *second* BA, from the IL Art Institute (program design is perfect - work with digital cameras, editing software, several scripting languages, video production, even sound editing - really wide and in-depth and appropriate to my interests).

Both programs could admit me in January, but I hate my job and want to move ahead with my new direction. Today I got a call that the Art Institute could enroll me for the coming quarter in 2 weeks!

(more details on livejournal but you have to friend me - it's locked.)

I so want this.....but am I reacting too quickly to serendipity?

Screenshot from the video game " Zombie Army Trilogy ".

In this picture from left to right you have a Soviet soldier, German officer and a member of the French resistance.

This is right after the second world war, as one situation ends only for another horrible one to begin.

Former enemies have now become allies, as they struggle to survive during a zombie apocalypse.

Which was brought on by a defeated and desperate Hitler, who unleashed an evil supernatural force on the world.

One that reanimated his dead soldiers and created an uncontrollable army of the undead.

Little is known about the Zombie Yeti other than his name, birth date, social security number, educational history, past work experience, and sandwich preference (roast beef and Swiss).
