I had this motif in my mind for some time and it's interesting how when you research on it, this basic drawing was in many different cultures like in the egiptian, inca and in the stone age, even in the art deco period.
In this red-grey combination it reminds me more on tribal art but in black and white it can turn to glamorous, this option is available if you want!
It closes with a braided belt that ends in two tassels.
The colours in the model pics may look a bit different, detail pic shows the right colours.

I used the zigzag quilt pattern using Amanda Jean's technique combined with Moda Bake Shop's technique by adding triangles to the edges. I didn't want to blunt the points of the zigzag. The only thing I noticed with the way I made this quilt is the zigzags don't match in length at both ends. I thought about adding a square to the shorter end however I had already pieced the triangles to the sides. It was too late to add the squares to the short ends.
Mini ziggurats, rather art deco - a particular style of ornamentation that seems to be typial of Khajuraho
I've sees some amazing sunrises, but this one is certainly at a high position. The higher clouds seemed to form a zigzag pattern starting at the rising sun.
